Does attending a school, that already has the program you want to specialize in, have any weight upon your application? I recently got accepted into a few dental schools and I'm leaning towards specializing (or at least interested in). I bet this is the best place to start asking question. Any input would be very helpful, thank you very much!

Yes, especially if they have a good impression of you. Also, it’ll make it easier to get LORs from Orthodontists

The best place to match can be your home program since they may already know you and like you from your time as a dental student. But it's probably not worth adding extra debt for this opportunity.

Agreed. If they like you they mostly want to keep their own grads.

On the flip side if you were an a-hole you may not match anywhere as the PD from your home program will blacklist you.
