Hi. I am a patient at dental school. I am in my upper 20s and i got braces about 2 years ago. I needed bite correction and some gaps in b/w teeth. I am extremely conscious about the fact that i have braces on and i hate everything about it. My question is, would it be wise to request my resident to just close the gaps for now and not worry about the bite fix to speed things up?

Having a crappy bite is going to be as annoying as the braces, amongst other factors. Just stick it out.

Talk to the Dr. about ceramic brackets on you upper front teeth. He will charge you an additional fee since these brackets are pretty expensive (like 10-20 dollars a bracket) but if its bothering you that much then it may be worth it to you. Their are also coated wires that look white.
