What are good books for orthopedic and urology rotations? I was looking for something quick and high yield since I will be doing 4 week rotations in each. Something along the lines of surgical recall for general surgery. Thanks.

I found NMS surgery to be useful for both of those rotations, but I wasn't pimped very much so I don't know how well it helps on the pimping questions. Surgical recall also has sections for ortho and uro as well.

Surgical recall flat out sucks for ortho, except for basics on how to describe fractures. The best book buy far is Netters concise atlas of orthopedic anatomy. Its about $50 though. Our urology attendings love Urology Secrets, and I thought this was a good high-yield source.

I agree with Urology Secrets. I don't know if it's universal, but out of all the different types of surgeons I've worked with, the urologists loved to pimp the most about esoteric stuff. Those few weeks were hell and would have been worse without that book.
