Osteopathic Applicants: What is "natmatch" ?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you look at that site, you'll see that they administer the AOA match. You end up paying your $60 match fee to NMS rather than the NRMP.

You're getting your terms confused:

ERAS = Application service = sends your applications to programs for you.
NatMatch = Matching service = matches you into a program.

Osteopathic candidates need to register with ERAS and NatMatch if applying to Osteopathic programs, and/or NRMP if applying to allo programs.
Allopathic candidates need to register with ERAS and NRMP.

I'm applying this cycle and ran into a site saying we need to apply through "Natmatch" for residency??? Does anybody know if we should be using this and not ERAS? It has the 2008 deadlines so I'm guessing it is currrent. http://www.natmatch.com/

If you want to apply only to DO residency programs, that site is where you go:

http://www.natmatch.com/aoairp/index.htm

If you want to participate in the MD match, you still have to apply through ERAS.

You have to go through ERAS for DO and/or MD residencies.
