I was wondering if anybody has any comments about OSU COM. I know that I am many years away from even thinking about applying for schools, but, OSU COM is my first choice. Probably because its my home state. Are there any websites about the school? Well, beside the actual college website of it. Thanks for any info!

OSU? Oklahoma? Loved the students - by far, the friendliest. After my interview, a ton of students skipped class and hung out with us, the administration, and the interviewers for a while to just have a good time. The school is state run, which is good, and they are pretty cool, but during my interview, the dean seemed to not be able to answer my questions, and they also wanted me to stick around and practice in Ok, which is not what I'm about to do. The distance also put me off.

However, the problems I have are not the problems you are going to have. I reccomend the school - Jen Richardson was so damn nice - the place rocked!

i got in to osu com and have to turn it down, going to my 1st choice, but i'll admit it was hard to decide. i loved everything and every encounter i had with people at osu com. i think you'll get outstanding training there and they are committed to producing great clinitians. if you get into osu com and are from ok, then i'd say definately go! if my fiance was from ok and not new york, i'd be going to osu com i think. anyway, if you wanna find out about them go to their web site, get their number and call them up. they are so friendly and will answer any questions you may have.

Here are some useful links.
The Osteopathic Web Ring http://www.osteopathicmedicine.org/html/members.html

OSU-COM http://osu.com.okstate.edu/

The AOA website http://www.am-osteo-assn.org/

this is a good medical resource site http://www.medicalstudent.com/

The best way to find out about the school is to call and ask for info and a tour. Most likely a student will give you the tour. On the tour, you could get personal advive on what you need to do in order to gain admission. For example, what kind of undergrad classes would be helpful, who would be a good doctor to shadow, etc.
The person to call to set this up is
Leigh Goodson, PhD
Associate Dean for Student Affairs
1111 West 17th Street
Tulsa, OK 74107-1898
1-800-677-1972

Good luck,
Michael
