OT: Everything NFL

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
At the beginning of the season, you always think that your favorite team is going to win the Super Bowl. I mean, everyone starts off 0-0 right? Plus you get excited about the little things and forget about the big picture. Like, "They finally drafted a QB!!!!!" But then forget that the team still needs a legitimate LT, LG, RG, RT, DE, OLB, CB, FS,SS, CB, MLB, K, etc.

To be fair, I didn't think the Skins would go to the Superbowl (not THAT delusional) but I told someone I expected them to go 8-8 or even 9-7. I think it's easy to get excited about big additions to the team (coughRGIIIcough) and hope that the few newer players/personnel changes/whatever can help bump you toward that winning season and maybe even a playoff shot.

It was kind of you to deny him 😀

I admit, I exaggerated a bit with the whole Super Bowl thing. But, I think every fan believes that their team will be successful at the beginning of the season. Even if that means just an improvement from last season.

No improvement from last season necessary for me. Status quo is just fine.

 You and Nyanko have had your share, let someone else have a turn!

And Marino, I wasn't directing that at you specifically, just agreeing to what you had to say 🙂
When I was growing up (and dinosaurs ruled the world).... the Giants were one of the most inept, dysfunctional teams.... I deserve a lifetime of super bowls to make up for being a fan back then!

One word: Hope.

On another note, Bills fan were feeling it this year. That team shelled out $100 million for a guy who was considered to be the top free agent. They have good talent at RB and some decent WRs, but with all of that they just haven't come together for some reason.

Counterpoint: it's the Buffalo Bills.

Chain Gailey is a horrible coach, they have a horrible overpaid QB but most of all, it's the Buffalo Bills.

Also I'm a really pessimistic Steelers fan. I pretty much always expect that THIS will finally be the year they collapse.

I feel like i have become the official Eagles basher on SDN now and must continually deliver posts on that subject. It is a bad habit.

Of course, I could keep on posting pictures of a certain cowboys owner picking his nose again instead.

I don't mind at all, so long as you leave my poor Redskins out of it😀

Speaking of Tebow, when the heck are the Jets going to start him? I know I'm biased, but I'd be asking even if I weren't a Tebow fan.

When he learns to do this one thing required of the QB position called "passing"

still don't see how this awful Steelers team is going to go any better than 9-7. 8-8 or 7-9 is just as likely.

edit: esp with captain greydick's shoulder syphilis or whatever

Not entirely sure what Sunday's match-up will be like. This up and down season for us and winning games by the skin of our teeth is not cool. I mean a win is a win...but still.

(216): Really because I got kicked out the eagles game for running up n down the steps singing ' fly eagles fly ' then punched a Dallas fan in the face before the game even started..

You stay classy, Philadelphia..

👍

But, you said it, not me. I am not allowed to address that subject anymore!

63 punt return to a TD? He can do whatever dance he wants 😉

And the Steelers' throwback jerseys gave me a headache.

I told you the Ravens would win that game (and prob the next one too).

However they looked pretty pathetic doing it (really, no offensive touchdowns at all?? letting Byron Leftwich run 30 yards??) so I'm pretty okay with it and confident that they will not go far. :meanie:

Haha and I said I thought it would be a tough game. Something about Heinz field...

And Leftwich broke himself...with NO ONE around him. Sad.

I think we get division champs again, but unless the defense starts looking alive, playoffs are gonna be depressing.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Oh Jets. I think it is time for me to break out my paper bag. Good thing I still have one from last year, and the year before that, and the year before that...

I think they need to sign the little girl that got on the Wheaties box😛
