LOL, It's only that I usually have money left from my scholarships around Thanksgiving time. So if I don't buy it then it'll be a giftless christmas lol. Although, I realized a few years ago that I don't really give a rats butt about getting anything for Christmas anymore xD. My dad pays my car insurance and car payment, so that is enough. But, there darn sure better be some good food waiting for me Christmas day!

Same here! I tell my parents every year I don't want ANYTHING I just want them to continue helping me with my school and bills so I can get into pharmacy school and get good grades! LOL My mom pays my car payment and insurance and my dad pays my phone bill so I told them I don't want a repo or my phone turned off for xmas. My mom insists on buying me a bunch of random things I don't want so there are lots of presents under the tree and I had to basically yell at her to stop. She ordered me a pair of boots I really liked from Journey's and that's about all I asked for this year. I would really like my windows tinted on my car because they've been naked since March but she seems to have a hard time grasping the idea of a present that can't go under the tree! I feel bad that sounded rude, but I hate seeing her waste money on stuff that we don't NEED. I kind of NEED tint because the 90 degree sun cracks the leather if you don't grease it with armor all every day.🙁

Oh yeah and picadillo is ground beef, browned with garlic, onions, and olive oil, then you add diced tomatos and a small amount of tomato paste, and I like to add some raisens, halved olives, and sometimes a few capers.

I don't eat a lot of rice which is really weird considering where I'm from, but most people mix it with rice and black beans. Fried plantains (green bananas) are really good with it too.

Raisens eh? That seems a bit outta place lol

I think it needs some peppers personally

Yeah I know it sounds nasty on paper... I personally hate raisens myself but it adds something that makes it taste better I swear. It adds sort of a sweetness to balance out the saltiness of the olives... yes I know that still sounds gross but I swear it's not. Cuban food isn't spicy like Mexican so I've never really seen a recipe with peppers but I'm sure that would be good if you're into the spicy stuff.

 You should be able to get it in few seconds.

I thought about that but I figured I would leave the saying as is... I could've said 'sounds nasty on the internet' but I didn't think that made much sense. LOL

I actually feel like I don't work enough. My hours have picked up this week with school being out... it's kind of telling that my 20 hours this week is probably the most I've worked in a couple months. :O I'd forgotten what life in a busy pharmacy is like on weekdays.

On a completely unrelated note, someone came back to the pharmacy today and bought five Snuggies.

Five. Snuggies.

Man, Weezer was the band that introduced me to 'alternative' music back when. A friend brought a cassette tape (!!!) of their first album to a birthday party... blew my mind.

Fun Story: I originally thought Green Day was an environmental group.

Someone on campus told me that they were really dead so they closed up early.

Between that and my adventure at Walmart tonight, it's been a rather crappy evening lol

I saw a cute girl (maybe 16-20 yo) at Wal-Mart shopping with her mom, and I overheard her saying "How did I get to be your child?" It seemed like she and her mom were close.

I would kill a man to be able to time travel back to when Weezer went on tour with Tenacious D. That's probably the perfect concert for a guy like me.

And my other offer still stands: I will kill a man if it gets me Daft Punk tickets.

I'm going the suicide route and applying strictly to my number one choice. Family makes it highly desirable to not have to relocate, and I feel like my package is pretty competitive. Being a veteran definitely helps.

Texas A&M doesn't send out its interview invites until the middle or end of February. I've been app-complete since October 15th.

Dang! Best of luck to you! 👍

I've looked at the average stats, and I think I've got a competitive standing. At this point, I think it's the interview that will help me sink or swim.

I hope I finally get to be an Aggie. Before I joined the Navy, I wanted to attend college at the main A&M campus in College Station, but finances stopped that dream dead in its tracks.

Now that I've voiced aloud my intent, I feel dumber than a bag of hammers.

Oh well, past the point of no return. 😉

that little saying cracks me up...
it kinda reminds me of "she looks like she was smacked in the face with a bag of nickels"...when referencing somebody unattractive...
