Vista? Upgrade to Windows 7! Then run it in the XP mode on win7. It's a virtual system built into Win7 for running all that stuff thats too old to run in Win7/Vista. Works like a charm 👍

you guys should check out the N64 emulator.
I wouldn't worry about that... I've seen plenty of people snap and no one is scared to talk to them afterward.
I'd like to upgrade my desktop to 7. I got the free upgrade with my new latop last year, and it's nice. Unfortunately, my current school doesn't have a license with M$ to distribute any of their software, and I can't bring myself to 1) pay $119 for a crippled 'upgrade from Vistar' version or 2) pay $199 for a full install version.

$30 for a brand spanking new version of Win7. My school wasn't even on the list, all you needed was an .edu e-mail address.
edit: About the upgrade/full install versions, I'm not sure about the x86 versions but all the x64 "upgrade" discs are full copies of Win7. It's possible to install Win7 from scratch with an 'upgrade' disc (at least if you get the x64 version).

My computer's way faster since upgrading to Windows 7. It boots faster, it runs games faster, it plays TV episodes better (load/seek time).
And Office for $60, too?!

LOL. You can get a lot of the programming packages for free or practically for free. I don't remember all the URLs off the top of my head right now but its completely legit from Microsoft.

I think one of the fastest laptops I've ever used was my IBM Thinkpad... but I fried it and it needs a new video card I think.
I have a Toshiba now and it's okay... but I think Dells are the worst that I have used for some reason... maybe it was just an entry level really crappy Dell though.

We have 4 laptops in my house... a nice big Gateway multimedia one, a Ferrari performance one (Really hawt, carbon fiber frame ftw), a tiny Gateway LT2050U for my wife @ school (The thing weighs like 11 ounces), and a Sony Vaio that kinda works but is sluggish, so we're giving it to her brother.

Four is how many I have used so far
#1 got old, so I switched to #2.
I pretty much busted #2, so I got #3.
Then I over-fried #3 with online gaming, so I'm using #4.
Our 4 still work.
For some reason, we keep buying new ones. Then we have 2 PCs (hers is a Dell XPS she bought while I was deployed. I built mine from Newegg).

Make abreviations BOB, they'll help you remember, here are a few:
My guy friend made it up actually - Flomax - what do you need when you have a heavy flow ? That's right a tampon ! Generic is Tamsulosin, class - alha adrenergic antagonist, indication benigh prostatic hypertrophy.
Lasix - you get lasic surgery and it goes back - you are furious (generic Furosemide) and you start running in loops ( loop diuretic is the class), hypertension and heart failure is the indication.
You don't want to know what dirty abbreviation our classmate made up about Lexapro and Lexa being a pro.
Okay well I'm jealous... I've never been to Vegas but I'm excited about Atlanta even though I have a massive exam the next day. No one can take off 2 days to come with me so I'll probably be hanging out in the hotel and saving my money for a cab or the MARTA or whatever transportation I will need to get there. LOL
I think Chebs is referring to my avatar I had a while back... one was far away of me and my stunt partner doing a coed stunt outside the Ft Lauderdale convention center and the other one was me with him and his teammate in their FSU uniform that I put up when they beat WVU in their bowl game.

It's rather confusing.
I see it as a cycle actually.
1) Facebook makes a new layout
2) People complain and make petition groups
3) Users quiet down for a while after getting used to it, and stop complaining
4) Facebook makes plans for another layout and people don't want it changed
1) Facebook does make the new layout
and so on.
That would be fine, except they do a major redesign every six months now. I'm pretty placid when it comes to change, but its starting to annoy me lol
