Anyone reading any good books these days?

I'm working on the Steve Jobs book by Isaacson and next in line is House of God (can't wait to read this one). Steve Jobs is good so far and very interesting. I never knew how quirky he was. Obviously brilliant as well.

I finished Condaleezza Rice's memoir of her family and up until the Bush days, "Extraordinary, Ordinary People". It was absolutely fantastic. What an amazing woman and she writes quite well. It was a page turner. I'm going to read her new book in the near future.

I'm a conspiracy theorist, and if you like that sort of thing, read "The Shell Game" by Steve Alten and prepare to be BLOWN away.

I also like Vince Flynn novels that have Mitch Rapp, a CIA Spec Ops guy, in them. Good stuff.

If you haven't read "Rainbow 6" and "Without Remorse" by Tom Clancy, they are his best imo.

I started Atlas Shrugged a few days ago.

thanks for the suggestions! Kidsfeet, I haven't read any of those, so I'll put them on my list.

Zane, I read Atlas Shrugged many years ago and then re-read 2 yrs ago..one of my all time favorites. I think I actually like The Fountainhead by Rand a little bit more, so you may want to check that out if you like Atlas Shrugged.

I'm also into the occult and if you haven't read the first three books in the Vampire Chronicles series (Interview with a Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned) by Anne Rice you should.

Ken Follett's, The Pillars of the Earth was one of the greatest books of all time.

The DaVinci Code was good, but the prequel book, Angels and Demons was AMAZING.

I know the Lord of the Rings got a lot of press, great series of course, but The Hobbit is still one of my favorite books of all time.

I'm not big into fantasy literature, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. The Sword of Shannara is a classic.

As you can see I used to and still read A LOT. It's one of my passions next to music (I play the guitar).

Vince Flynn novels are great. Brad Thor is another author that writes that "super-spy" sort of book. This is the type of book that I tend to read to wind down and take a break from studying or reading articles or textbooks. Recently I have been trying to go back and read some of the books that I was supposed to read in high school or undergrad that I never read. Some of those books have been Farenheit 451, 1984, Brave New World, Hamlet, Crime and Punishment, etc. I thought they were all good books, and I wish I would have read them when I was supposed to.😀

If we're including fantasy, I have to go with my boy George RR Martin:

I know it's been made into an awesome HBO series, but the books are way better! Best mature fantasy series since Tolkein.
