hey,

i'm starting drexel's pmed program in the fall. i just got word that i don't have to take physics i/ii b/c i took it as an undergrad. so, i will only be taking chem this coming year (4 credits, 3 chem, 1 lab). the thing is, i kind of want to have >6 credits so that i can be eligible for federal aid. are there any classes that i could take at this point in my post-bac pre-med path (besides bio or o-chem) that would be beneficial, but not impossible?

any ideas?

thanks! 😀

Hi there,
Take cell biology, physiology or histology as they should prove very useful for medical school.

hey, thanks!

so, i'm assuming all three of these classes are ok to take w/o having had bio, chem or ochem before?

or intro genetics/mol bio, also manageable without prior coursework and extremely useful for med school

How's your math background? A number of schools have a math requirement. I am scrambling to take a Stats course right now, kinda wishing I had tackled it during post-bac. But if you have Calc I/II, you should be good from the requirement standpoint.

I also wished I'd taken physiology when I got to the MCAT.

thanks, prana. i was a math major as an undergrad, so i have that covered. but that would make most sense if i hadn't. i'm just concerned that because i'm entering an evening program, they won't have the courses i could take offered at times that i can take them. i think i'm going to have to call them tomorrow ... if i can get through that is ...
