hello, if anyone can elaborate on how you prepared for the pcat (section by section if thats not too much to ask). I have the Pcat destroyer but the entire thing is all questions, not really any study guides. I also have the 2014-15 version of Dr. Collins so I have been using that. I feel like he goes over everything very well but there seem to be a lot of mixed responses on how well Dr. Collins actually prepares you. Do the Pearson Practice tests help? Also, I am a big advocate of understanding over memorizing but there are certain things you simply need to memorize (like formulas). When it comes to nucleophiles/electrophiles and acids/bases and polar/nonpolar i seem to have the most difficulty understanding how to tell them apart and what categorizes them. If there any websites or resources that explain it well and give a good background knowledge then I will be very grateful if you can guide me to those. My final question would be what would be the best way to prepare for the verbal/reading/essay. The analogies with the vocab and passages seem to trip me up the most and I dont really know how to go about studying for it (especially when it comes to vocab). The essay topics seem to be about random topics so lets say I receive a topic asking how to improve the economy as a bio major my knowledge on the subject is limited so i was wondering if im being graded simply on how I present my ideas (as long as theyre logical) or do the solutions that i come up with actually matter...sorry for the long post I'm taking the Pcat January 5th and was just trying to get some last minute ideas on how to review or study for my Pcat again if i have to retake. Thank you in advance for your time and input!!!

If you google some of the questions from collins, you will see that they go as far back as 2011. So your version of collins is fine. It seems like you will be okay but just pace yourself. Tackle one subject per day until then and take a break the day before.
