P/NP for GE college class, competitive residency chance

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My question is: would a P/NP class during my first year in college in a GE class affect my chances for a competitive residency like plastic surgery or derm or neurosurgery? I heard that the most competitive residencies ask for your college transcript...

After much contemplation on the boundaries of human nature, I can only assume this to be a troll post.

please i understand how this can be interpreted to be so, but I am really not trolling.

Considering the bubble world nature of some BS/MD programs and how insane their rumor mills can get, this is a pretty mild question. You're fine. Med schools don't care how you did in high school, and residencies don't care how you did in college.

Dude, you're screwed. Go ahead and slice off 150k off your earning potential.

Just kidding, you're fine.
Residencies care about step scores and clinicals, not undergrad.

Sorry, you're pretty much screwed. Maybe if you're lucky you can still match FM in the carribbean.

Obviously you haven't learned much in that class if you're considering P/NP for an A-.

Wow. I'm shocked by the number of sarcastic/demeaning comments on here. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have grown up in a family of doctors or healthcare professionals. The only reason why I'm here right now is because I depend on the advice and help of others, whether it be my high school counselor or pre-med help forums like this. There have been people who have already walked the road I'm preparing to go down, people who have generously donated their time to help out a fellow pre-med. My question, which might have seemed neurotic or stupid to some of you, was a genuine one, and I thank everyone who responded to it sincerely. In the future, I'll take my questions to another forum. Have a nice day, all.

Sorry if our sarcasm hurt your feelings, but how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you're so concerned about an A-? Just spending 10 seconds googling "average GPA for med school matriculants" would tell you that the average person accepted to med school has an A- AVERAGE, meaning you can get tons of A-'s without it being a big deal.

I'm asking about residency, not medical school. I'm currently in a BS/MD program, as stated in my question. I know that a handful of A-s aren't going to hurt too much if you're applying to medical school the regular route lol.

Just like med schools don't care about high school grades, residencies don't care about college grades. In fact, they aren't too concerned with pre-clinical med school grades either.

As long as your GPA is high enough to not get you kicked out of the BSMD program, you're fine
