I have been having a tough time analyzing correlation data within P/S passages. Let me know if I have this right

Positive correlation (two variables are linked and linearly related) - values (0.5-1)
Negative correlation (two variables are linked and inversely related) .- values (-1-(0.5))
No correlation (two variables unlinked (values ((-0.5)-0.5)

Does this sound about right?

my understanding was that when comparing one variable to another:
Exactly 1. A perfect downhill (negative) linear relationship
0.70. A strong downhill (negative) linear relationship
0.50. A moderate downhill (negative) relationship
0.30. A weak downhill (negative) linear relationship
0. No linear relationship
+0.30. A weak uphill (positive) linear relationship
+0.50. A moderate uphill (positive) relationship
+0.70. A strong uphill (positive) linear relationship
Exactly +1. A perfect uphill (positive) linear relationship

these are notes from my psych class, not sure if AMCAS agrees
