If any of you are attending or have attended the Hunter College Post-Bacc Premed program, please tell me how you find/found the program. I am especially interested in how flexible they are in terms of scheduling, and how much guidance did you get througout the whole application process if you have already gotten to that state.

I am considering transfering there from the Columbia Program because I am about to be laid off and I doubt I will be able to afford it.

Thanks.

I did this program....it's good.........and cheap to boot ! Advisement is kind of lacking though, but don't let that deter you. Most people I know who were at Hunter were accepted to medical school, including myself. PM me, and we can chat further !

how is the program structured? does it only include the basic prereq's for medical school, or are you free to take upper-level science classes.

it's relatively structured.....the usual pre-med courses, and such...you are able to take upper level courses, if you are so inclined. The beauty of it stems from that many course are available in the evening, hence if you work ( I did ) it's quite compatible with an array of schedules.

divinemsm,

thanks! i also sent you a PM

Is the Hunter Program only for people who have done no premed classes? or can I do the program to improve my stats?

I have done all my basic premed classes, however I need to improve my science gpa. I was also looking into other post-bacc programs but Hunter would be nice since its near where I live and should be cheaper.

You can do the program to repeat certain courses ( I did ) as well as take upper level ones ( did that too.)
