west palm beach sounds pretty nice right about now..
Hello, I interviewed last week. One girl actually flew in from California. She flew back after the interview. I have a couple Ws because at the time I had some personal issues. I was asked extensively about that. They questioned my readiness for the rigorous program that is composed of at least 18 credit hours of challenging subjects and they don't want you to fail. Never the less, it was a real pleasant experience.
1st) you meet on 3rd floor where students are 'snacking'. On my way up, I met some students with their white coat, very professional. They were talking about some pathway of medication and pharmacotherapy type stuff. It was pretty cool. Their jargon made me a bit dizzy lol.
2) escorted to a room where the dean came a short while later and proceeded to ask us to introduce ourselves. Then he talked about the curriculum. Someone else came to talk about the technology, you will need a tablet pc.
3) next was a prayer by the dean wishing us luck this round of interview and hoped to see us in fall.
4) Suddenly, you are asked to spread out (leave empty seat next to you); then came the chem/math quiz and essay (40 mn). It was pretty intense but if you keep your cool, you'll do fine.
5) escorted to student interview where each applicant's name is called. Very nice student who seemed bright & also seem to like PBA.
6) escorted to a different floor for faculty interview. This was more intense. Faculty was cordial but wanted concrete answers to questions. There is no indication that a good gpa is good enough as they
also want well rounded individuals. I was surprised faculty did not ask me questions based on my essay. They were mostly about grades and some praise for having taken 22 credit hours and did well in tough science and math classes.
6) Student tour. Student seemed very enthusiastic about PBA and proudly wore the white coat. I saw some students and although they were smiling, they seemed really busy to meet some deadline; I suppose the program is really rigorous.
I left the interview not knowing whether I'm in or not. I got the same impression about the other students. The questions were direct, but conversational. I'm relieved I did not have the chemistry professor (I heard he asks chem questions unexpectedly).
Beware: expensive private school! In or out of state... don't matter.
Hope this helps someone.
