After i E-submitted my application on Friday, I was reviewing my application and noticed that in my course listings, that i put my A&P course as "other" because i took them both at different community colleges and it was unclear whether i should list them as part of a biology, anatomy, or integrated physiology department. The fact is that both A&P courses that i took are part of a biology or science department but just at a community college. my A&P 1 course prefix is SCIK-201 so i listed it as A&P other while my A&P 2 course was at a different community college with a prefix of BIO-196 so i listed it as A&P BIO. Most of my schools require that both A&P courses be part of a biology, anatomy or integrated physiology department according to the PTCAS little box before it lists pre-req's but when i look up each schools individual page it doesn't say anything about this. Am I over-thinking this? 😕

*one additional note is that i had the same teacher for both courses just a different schools.

I would call PTCAS for them to make the necessary changes, just in case.

*below was the response from ptcas, kinda vague but basically its up to the program whether they will accept a prefix of SCIK-201 as appropriate or not ? Does anyone else have an odd prefix, that may not be bio but hasn't had an issue? i guess its outta my hands at this point. I could email each program or department head to explain that i had the same teacher and ask for consideration unbiased of my A&P I pre-req.

If you chose these courses as Core PT Prerequisites, they are included in the
Core PT Prerequisite GPA.

Your designated programs will make their own determinations about which courses
you have completed meeting their individual requirements. Your designated
programs receive your entire Coursework section, which includes a listing of
the courses that you chose as Core PT Prerequisites.

Have you received confirmation that your file has been fully processed and sent to your designated schools? If not, call them. You'd be surprised about what and how fast they can make a change for you. No emails. Call.

I will call them. Thanks for the support. Any support is good support during the waiting game. No it hasn't been processed yet. It will take 4 weeks they say.

Agree.......call. PTCAS needs to make the change in the prereq. section so the SGPA, etc reflect your course work. Move the "other" AP into Science / Bio I don't think anyone cares if it was the same teacher, if it was A/P w a lab that's important. Some schools might not check the other courses listed if they are first screening for their required core courses. I errored last cycle w/ a psych class and had to wait until after the early decision time period for the adjustment.
