Will it help to mention to the school that your dad or mom is an alumni of that school? Does that sound too biased or egotistic? Of course I'm not gonna brag about it, but would like to mention it in my PS or interview as a side note.
Thanks

they'll already know if you filled out the family member question on aadsas.

Unless you're planning on applying to only 1 school (which is ridiculous, because you should at least apply to 5) don't put something like that in a PS because all schools will read that. It needs to be neutral. But that may already seem obvious. It's good for an interview though!

Ok, thanks guys! Since I'm still a couple years away from filling out an application I didn't know about the family section. I guess I'll just keep it to the interview for that school!

How enviable to have parents to be alumni of d-schools!

The real question is: How much have they donated?

well, not d-school, unfortunately, but of the univ., fortunately, hopefully

Unfortunately, that won't help you at all in gaining admission. Dental school admissions and undergraduate admissions are two entirely different things.

This is probably stretching it to an extreme, but say one of your parents did a medicine residency with a given university and that place also has a dental school? Or how about said parent's old med school (different place, but again, also has a d-school)? Would either of those things help?

I suppose it could almost be anything, just comes down to donations...
