Hi everyone,

I am a FTD and am thinking of retaking my part 1 (as I am having bad scores). After reading the various threads in SDN and going through the part 1 guide and the ADA web site my take on the new changes are that
a) From Jan 2010 we will no longer be able to retake NBDE if we get a pass score of 75 and above and from jan (?)
b) From 2012 the NBDE will be only Pass/Fail and scores will not be reported.

Now my doubt is that in page 8 of the part 1 guide it say's "An application may be submitted no more than 12 months before the examination date.", "Candidates are eligible for only a 12-month period. If you do not call, register and take the NBDE Part I during this period, you will have to submit another application and fee in order to take the examination later."

Now does this mean that if we apply for re-examination, hypothetically lets say I apply for the re-examination in Sept 09 and am found to be eligible to take the exam then I have time till Sept 2010 to schedule and take the exam??? even though I will be re-taking the exam??

Thanks for reading my long post,

Suna.

Hi
Called ADA @ 800-232-1694 to confirm and clarify my doubt in my first post and the rep said that ADA will and do respect (for want of a better word) the 12 months period if one registers fro the exam before 2009 Dec. So my take from the conversation is that if a re-examination candidate regesters for the NBDE before Dec 2009 we can take the exam before Dec 2010 even though it will be a re-exam.

Am going to send an e-mail and get it in writing if possible.

hi everyone.......
i have heard that the rule which stats tht v can just appear once and cant re appear to improve the score is going to apply from the 2012 not from 2010.
is it true?

nb candy, what you mean to say is, if we register for the exams rightaway, that is in 2009, then we have a chance to re-take ?
only Jan 2010 onward, applications will be not allowed if one gets score of 75 or above ?

is it your first time for NBDE1 ?
and when did u call the ADA ?
