Hi,
I am also interested in answers to the questions listed above and where do you go to school? CONGRATS!!!

awesome! I hear with the new exam format scores have been significantly lowered. 92% must be like a 97% if you convert to last year's standards.

How did you prepare DA and Anatomy?

I studied at kaplan center for 1 year! Yes, I know, a looong time. But I had a student visa and I was not really involved with studies for a while. Anyway, the first thing I did was to read kaplan book. And I also watched a lot of cds at kaplan center for USMLE (the dental tapes are not that good- the only one that really helped was dental anatomy).
Don't worry if you didn't take kaplan yet. I recommend you to study first aid for the nbde (there are a lot of mistakes in the book though. You have to make corrections yourself). Dental decks 2007 helps a lot too. I studied all the released papers, which I was scoring around 75% total.
It's really important to see how the test works so you feel more comfortable with the real test. I highlly recommend kaplan q bank. If you get the 6 months subscrition, you will also get the new review book dent essentials. It's really condensed but I loved biochemistry part and micro for a good review. The questions are more difficult than the real test though. In kaplan q bank I was scoring around 65%.
2 weeks before my test I bough "crack the nbde". I got very good results in that practice test
I can tell you that I studied a looot. But it was worthy. The way I feel right now is priceless!!!
About the test... they do ask a lot of basic stuff. The test was much easier than i though it would be. There were questions that were so simple that I actually felt like "I can't believe I'm not sure about this one. It's so easy".
Good luck to you all! Let me know if you have more questions. Hope I could help 🙂

I was wondering if CRACK the BOARDS had explanations to the questions?

congrats on your score! i'm taking mine in a week. ...

I was going through some old exams and noticed some "testlet" questions related to a "case study" type passage with some questions following it asking about it.........are these also on the new version?? if yes, about how many??

Hi pii and burnish,

are you guys 1/2 way through 2nd year?

I am wondering why you are taking the exam mid-year? I thought schools made you take test either summer after 1st or summer after 2nd year?????? I didn't realize students took exam mid year, why would they want you to do this, doesnt this interfere with coursework?

do you guys know what most schools do? and why do so many have different board exam schedules?

thanks alot!

hi pii,
do u think u could do it if u studied very well from all sources u said including q bank....but without the kaplan book???
it is so detailed ...i am afraid it will confuse me as i do not have much time ..i am preparing in 3 months only
thanks alot

Hi, I agree with you. Kaplan book is way to big and the text doesn't flow. There are a looot of informations, but they aren't connected to each other a lot of times. My favorite part of the book is microbiology. And Biochemistry is long, but it really helped me to understand it better! So, if you have time, review at least micro 🙂
Good luck!

Hi dentista2012,
I didn't notice my status is "dental student". I graduated in dentistry in brazil 5 years ago!

That new format is strange. How do those scores average out to be a 92?😕 More power to ya 🙂 Good job!

CAN U TELL ME THE EXACT NAME OF THE BOOK"CRACH THE NBDE"
