Shouldn't the girl get fatigued/tired if its Hyperthyroidism?

I thought of juvenile diabetes 1st considering her in her teens and also Pt being a female...but then the girl shld get faigued..which is not the case here..

I can suggest the possibility of Drug Abuse here.Or maybe even Cancer.

IS there any other Sign and symptoms or additional history of the Pt. given ?..

What are the answer options given?..

hyperactive and loosing weight - the latter may be related to dehydration sound like something related to comsumption of ephinephrine / caffein to the body too much or metabolic disorder that may cause production of epinephrine or its derivative increase in the brain. Hyperthyroidism may be a good choice.

Hypothyroidism is the one thats looks fatigue...

But the questions says tht the girl doesnt get tired...whereas in Hyperthyroidism there shld be fatigue.

So hyperthyroidism can be included in as D/D but I doubt tht shld be the case here. Any other inputs?

Looks like Dr. House is putting questions to his med team here..haha..Just a joke.:)

Hi Richa
Thanx for your input. There are no choices given coz this question is from remembered questions. but it does mention that name 3 such diseases(multiple choicequestion).

Even I thot of Attention Deficit Disorder but kids with ADD are impulsive and inattentive
other choice I thot of Hyperkinesis but I think its not right coz hyperkinesis is related to involuntary activities

Do any of u know about effects on teenager who are on Amphetamine??

I also looked into pedo book for hyperactivity and I found Anorexia nervosa ( which doesnt sound right) it is more to do with depression and nervousness.

Guys thanx for ur input. I would appreciate if anybody would discuss all these options atleast we would come to the closest choice

I read an article a few months back that teenager who drink a lot of energy drink to keep awake during the exam become intoxicated, hyperactivity and dehydrate. Teenager is much easier to loose their body fluid compare to adults who drink the same amount of Energy drink. Energy drink contains methylanine or caffein which can give similar effect to people who have Amphethamine. Try to search on google ..you may find the article I am talking about.
