Let's put up our part II scores so we know how many questions we need to get correct to pass.

Took the exam at the end of Feb.
366/500
Comp score of 79

Got my score....74

my raw score was 333/500

cases 70/100

Gosh I feel depressed.

335/500 = 74

This is just for a rough estimate though right? In order to pass you have to get a certain number of "anchor questions" correct according to the Joint Commission. It isn't based on total number right...although that probably is a factor as well.

I just read the ASDA FAQs from the Joint Commission and they said raw # needed for passing ranged from 55-67% in 2009. I got a 67%...and didn't pass 🙁

Sounds about right. Unfortunately now days you almost have to score close to a raw 70% in order to barely pass w/a 75%. Back in the days, I bet your raw score of 67% would have granted you a 77-79% score or even in the low 80s. Oh well!!! 👎

According to the same report, they started using the new criteria/exams in 2/2009... so the data they have from 2009 should be the same for 2010 🙁

But I kinda think the Joint Commission is only telling half truths. If the changes had come in Feb, then last year's class would have had the same problems. They probably implemented it at 1 testing site till June, and then are showing the data as if it is representative of the change :/

btw - here is a link to the letter, if any of you all didn't get it. But reading it is probably going to just piss you off because they just keep saying there isn't a problem...

So basically nothing is changing at all from that week two weeks ago right? You are right, reading that made me mad! There has to be a difference from last year. I know so many students that didn't study at all last year and passed above a 75. And now it seems everyone who passed in my class are only getting between 75-77.

I just got my result today for my 2nd attempt ( 1st attempt :74).

Day 1 Total: 356
Day 2: 62
Comp Score: 81

I still cant believe I made it...

for all those who have passed the test, please shed some light on how you prepared and if you passed in your second attempt..how was your preparation different from the first time?

I am probably taking my test in June and in the wake of recent increase in failure rate-- I am freaked outttt 😱

congratulation gmav. can you tell me what did you study for part 2 and how much time did you take to study?

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I'm new. I took part II at the end of Jan and got 312 out of 500 Q's right.
That came out to a 72%. I was so disappointed bc I studied for a couple of months continuously. I don't quite understand why this exam is so hard.

I go again on June 1st and this time i'm hoping on passing it.

Got result today, took april 15
its 75, feeling great relief.
composite 311/500
case base 53/100.

Good luck everyone

I took my part II today and it was hard....the questions are twisted....I guess i have to wait 3 week of so to get the results....

good luck - i keep saying that you have better chances of passing when the test is so hard, you don't have to score so high to pass, so it's not such a disadvantage. this is what happened to me: the second exam was much easier, more reasonable and thought i passed it no problems when it turns out that i did worse than my first time. so here goes my third try: super hard, crazy questions but i passed since i didnt have to score very high to make it. just relax at this point. not much you can do but to wait patiently. remember that your "pass" scorecard comes in a peach color paper and "fail" comes in a grey colored paper. On my third try, however, my "peach" color paper looked much too gray, so I almost fainted when i saw the color but it turned out to be a pass!! :meanie:

Part I: 94
Part II: Comp Score 87
Day 1: 399/500
Cases: 69/100

Looked at a few old tests from the early 80's. Went through the Decks once on the Saturday and Sunday before I took the test on Monday April 26th. I felt the test was far easier than Part I. I scored above or at the national average in all areas with Oral Path being my best and the Case-based my worst sections.
