Hey guys I thought of arranging the forum a bit by making a thread for each section for NBDE part one.... so if any body got any questions or need help in or got new useful information wana share in Anatomic Science writes here......... 🙂 hope that would make it easy for everybody planning to take part one soon .. i know this is goin to sound very dumb but guys i m still confused......here it is said that medial pterygoid, lat pterygoid protudes mandible.......and in 1st page of our this thread......one of our fellow member said ans is temporalis.......i am very confused.....pls help.......thanks

Infratemporal fossa and pterygopalatine fossa communicate via pterygomaxillary fissure

Pterygopalatine fossa:
- Superior: communicates with the skull via the foramen rotundum
- Anterior: communicates with the orbit via the inferior orbital fissure
- Lateral: communicates with the infratemporal fossa via the pterygomaxillary fissure
- Medial: communicates with the nasal cavity through the sphenopalatine foramen

There is also another clue to remeber this, remeber the insertion of inferior/lower head of lateral pterygoid is in the articular disc, hence it assists in stabilizing the articular disc during closure.....
