Next semester will be my last semester of undergrad. I've been accepted to a few private DPT programs, but I'm still waiting to hear from a few state schools (my top choices). I've completed most of my degree requirements, so I really only need to be a part time student next semester to graduate. Being a part time student would reduce my tuition significantly and give me more time to work and save for next year.

Will having a light course load impact my chances of being accepted into some programs or my potential place on a waitlist during the upcoming semester? I will be working more as a PT tech and research assistant in my free time.

No, you will be fine. Be able to explain IF asked in an interview why you have a light course load. For example I had to take ten pre reqs as a non degree seeking student. In addition to working full time as a tech, studying for GRE, I only took 2-3 pre reqs a semester. This was actually a tougher schedule than any semester I had in undergrad and I explained that in an interview actually.

They don't care. There are lots of students who take the non-traditional route to DPT school who don't go from full-time UG directly to DPT.
