How many opportunities are there for anesthesiologists wanting to work part-time out of residency. Are they hard to find? I'm sure groups prefer to hire full-time physicians, but is it common (or sinful) to hire new part-time group members?

Thanks in advance.

The recruter from Southwestern was at my medical school a few years back and was selling anesthesiology as a job that would be nice for mothers because you can find a job with part time hours.

I had a patient a while back in the unit whose brother was an anesthesiologist in Atlanta. He said there were jobs there Mon-Fri, no call, no weekends with very good pay.

So, yes I think its possible to work part time. Some of the attendings on this forum will have a better idea of the specifics.

No problem. You will have multiple offers for part-time work. This will never change even with Independent CRNA practice.
