whats the big deal with lisamd? I looked she is ok looking but seriously its not like she is Jessica Alba! FWIW my wife is sorta like Reece Witherspoon.. but a lot hotter and not as annoying.

This thread just makes me laugh 🙂

I'm glad all y'all are so crazy about your wimmens. Maybe someday I'll be that lucky 😉.

About your wimmens or someone saying it about you? hahaha (you know I'm joking)

hey its great we arent all like.. i hate my wife and my life. I made the right choice and I can say this after being with her for 10+ yrs now, breaking up for 7 months (way pre marriage) or so and now being married for almost 4 yrs..

Never mind...I totally misread your post. Enough of this waiting.

ehh ok.. last night our shindig was insane. Beyond Peter Rosen pimping things out, our attending cooking amazing greek food the night was topped off with sheer insanity. Anyhow spent all day today working on our backyard. Looking much better than before!

So I went snowboard boot shopping today and quickly realized the ones I've been using the last 3 seasons have been too big. I found a great pair of boots that are the most comofortable, yet snug things I've ever felt on my feet. They're pricey though. Plus I figure if I'm going to upgrade my boots, I'm going to upgrade the bindings as well since mine are old as hell (luckily the board is doing ok). I don't know if I'm willing to shell out the amount the items I want are with the season ending soon. But if I end up in Denver, probably will!

Yeah I would wait to figure out where you end up. What if you end up somewhere far from mountains? Plus the deals will be coming up soon!

Yeah good point. I just want to have the gear in case we decide to go snowboarding again next weekend (which is a possibility). It was miserable trying to board with the gear I had. To be honest, the worst part of waiting for the match results at this point is that so much of my life is on hold until I figure out where I'm going to be. I need to figure how much I can budget on trips, dates of certain things, etc.

Dude I hear ya. Once match day comes you will be busy, finding a place to live, figuring out how to move, buy vs rent a house, lots of paperwork, perhaps classes to take prior to arrival (ACLS etc.) and figuring out how to survive money wise until that 1st check comes in the mail and on and on. Hell if you want to spend the money, I am not going to tell ya what to do, but just giving you a few things to keep in mind.

I'm more worried about all the planning my gf will have to do. She has to find a new job, transferring to a new school to finish pre-reqs, all while moving far away from her family.

This is why our original plan of heading to Australia will likely not happen any more. I think it would cost way too much knowing that we need to have some reserve for many of the above things you mentioned, especially with living arrangements.

I wish I had this problem. Both my GF and myself will be opening envelopes on the 15th...and our lists aren't as similar as we would have hoped. It's still possible to end up in the same city/region, but that means one of us not getting our top choice.

deeeeeeeeeeep breath. another night... please keep me occupied.

How can you tell if something is a break or a sprain? Is the pain different, or is an xray the only way?

And hi roja. I don't really talk to you that often, but I can help keep you company tonight. I am supposed to be studying, but I need some wake-me-ups too.

I would imagine that x-ray is the only definitive way. However, based on my experience with my body, the mechanism of injury was the determining factor. Example: I broke my metacarpal by punching a door. I sprained my ankle several times, by landing awkwardly on a small object, i.e. foot, base of a volleyball pole. I suppose punching something could cause a sprain, but I figure it's more of a blunt trauma, while sprains are "twisting"trauma. That's my pre-med answer.

Thanks Todd!!!

Oh and about the competition with Lisamd...I have to leave something to the imagination 😉

Is it her ankle? I don't remember her saying what joint, etc it was.

However, the friendly people in Ottawa will have a rule for whatever ails you, it just might not be published yet. A couple meetings ago there was an Ottawa subarachnoid rule. So there really is a place for socialized medicine. To figure out what is most bad the cheapest, while missing the fewest patients.

It's close to the great toe. Just below the first proximal tarsal. I'm thinking if anything broke/chipped it would be the distal head of the first metatarsal. I'll try to find the clinic that will do it for cheaper.

I definitely still have point tenderness. Barely brush a finger over the spot and I cringe. Then again, it's been a week, so it's probably starting to heal already.

I could see them look at the xray and say "well...you have some massive heel spurs...is that what you came in for?"

Slow day today. I miss football.

Ah...you guys are still talking about how you passed the Path forum in # of posts. Oh so sad are the days where we perseverate on past successes. Yes, I too remember the days of yonder when path passed gas, IM, and ER all within a month. Oh well...strong work you guys. Please cherish the last several months where the ER posts > Path posts...cuz one day, one of us Path folks will get super-raged and inspire a revolt leading to a frenzy of posts written with wrath and furious anger. OK...actually, I doubt that'll happen

Keep on keepin' on!

You don't have any professional courtesy? I've gotten free X-rays a couple of times, once from our FM clinic, once from the local Ortho guys.

No...the closest we have is the on-campus, but they have no xrays. We have the clinic the school is associated with that I am going to try out. I heard they give us a discount, but never heard of anything free there.

I take that back...I talked to someone, and they said all they paid was their insurance co-pay. I don't know about the rest of it. They said they never received a bill (or not yet anyway).

I'm watching my notes...trying to get something to sink in.

At least it's slowly and not quickly.

almost time for page 10!
