On the plus side, the wind chill now is 13 above. So much warmer...

I love a day I don't have class. Unfortunately, I have a final to study for.

one more +pad+ and time to study

Where is everyone? Don't you know that you are all supposed to ENTERTAIN me?!?!?

I've got a laser pointer, will that work.

Catch it. You missed. Catch it. Come on kitty, catch the red dot.

Interviews are officially over! I'm going to skip out on my ICU duties another day and celebrate!

Maryland and Penn are officially my 2 biggest surprises, both really impressed me. I'll try to review them a little later.

No offense to Hopkins (great place too), but the best program in Baltimore is Maryland.

I was doing a practice test and couldn't figure this one out. Does anyone have ideas on which one is the answer or at least which to eliminate?

3. Which suggests that the person was a non-smoker?

A. abundant goblet cells in the small airways
B. brown-stained, hemosiderin-negative pulmonary macrophages
C. sparse, inconspicuous bronchial glands
D. thick bronchial basement membranes
E. very compliant lungs at autopsy

I eliminated A and E, but didn't know about the rest. Your help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks...I think you are right too. I didn't know what B was.

Of course I might be a little biased.. but truthfully it would be hard to say otherwise. I must have heard 15 different languages today..

Congrats dude! Sounds like your list is shaping up to be similar to mine!

Lived there since I was 8 and moved for med school. Great place to visit, but a crappy place to live.

That's a great way to exercise my cat if I had one.

My boxer puppy goes nuts with that. Petco here loves promoting it because it allows humans to continue to be couch potatoes while exercising their pets and not with them...

The GF got me to go to cardio kickboxing tonight. And considering I haven't worked in a while, my body hurts...BAD! But I had fun, regardless.

Lived there from 18 months to 18 yrs.. I know it well.. agree on not being the most ideal place to live.. But frankly I could say the same for NYC (lived there for a little over 1 yr) and LA...

working out.. fun.. for some reason it is a lot harder this yr than last... i think i know why..

So apparently it snowed on my friends in SC today. But 3 hours north, on the other side of the mountains, it flurried. This is lame.

Just a few weeks ago I had my first experience with salt in NYC. The morning after some light snowfall I looked out my window to see the FDR covered in snow. I didn't realize we were supposed to get snowfall heavy enough to cover everything. I also thought it was weird because traffic was flowing just fine, I didn't see any plows, etc, etc. Then I looked a little closer and relaized I was looking at a 1/4" layer of salt on the FDR, on 30th street, heck, even on the sidewalks. NYC is serious about their salting.

Hmm how will I spend my day in paradise today.. ill be hitting up the heat cavs... tonite then out in the city.. but the day? going to the beach this weekend pre super bowl..

my best friend is working til friday.. hmm..

You going to the game? You should find a way to work the game if you don't have the $575,000 ticket (seriously, one is on sale for that much).

My body hurts today. But oh it hurts so good.

I am in desperate need of a long break!!!

Yes we do, but that is a long 6 weeks away for me. By that time I will have another round of finals for the section we start on monday.

Anyone else watching ER jump the tuna.

I say that because they jumped the shark a long time ago, and now they're just jumping whatever they can find.

Semester 4 sucks. So close to rotations, yet so many more lectures.

Hahaha . . . I didn't realize anyone was still watching.

I don't understand the phrase "jump the tuna" What does that mean? I'm just sad that I missed Scrubs tonight.

"Jumped the shark" is a phrase that indicates a specific point when a show went downhill, in terms of writing and plot quality especially.

DrMcNinja was saying ER long ago "jumped the shark" so he picked another fish to indicate things have gotten even worse than before.
