after lunch pad.

So, El Paso is the only county in the Southwestern US on flash flood watch today. My wife's clinic is surrounded by water and 3 of her troops have their homes flooded.

At my house there's water in the wine cellar and all of yards are pretty much saturated. I'm real glad that I put $10K into the retaining walls this past winter.
It's letting up some but more rain is forecast. I suppose we still could slide down the mountain.

What's faster than a speeding bullet?

A house in Malbiu.

We also have had a ton of rain here. The washes have been almost full and almost over flowing.. Its weird cause it is raining reala heavy at night.

Fetus,

It happens every July and August in the SW. So-called monsoon season. But today has been special. and not in a good way.

Lucky! I will do the same when I am back at the university. Yes, we have two beaches on campus, and one of them is clothes-optional. 😎

Clothing optional beach in Miami usually means really old fat white people from up north somewhere.

In Vancouver? Isn't it just a tiny bit cold for that? And I do mean tiny.

BKN.. The folks here say that this has been an all around "unusual" monsoon season. I guess they are getting more rain than usual and at odd times.. Nothing special here today except for the fact that it isnt ridiculously hot.. It is sunny.. though it rained all night.. Glad we just redid the roof

There is a secret clothing optional beach I know of.. A hot chick showed it to me.. at least 1 yr ago it was full of nothing but young people (some hot and some not..) luckily the fat tourists havent caught on to this one..

BTW the topless portion of SoBe is usually not too shabby.. and if the talent is lacking at least the clevelander isnt too far away..

Vancouver is on the Pacific coast, so it's never that cold here. 😉 It's about 75 right now and to me that's the perfect temperature (115 in Vegas was way too hot for me!) In the Winter it averages about 50 degrees but dips below 32 once in awhile.

I wish that was the case in the midwest areas. Summers getting up to 105-110 with heat indexes even higher, and winters down to single digits and sometimes below 0 with wind chills negative teens on the bad days. Never can get used to it all, and I've lived around here my whole life. 🙁

I've lived in St. Louis, Boston and Houston and NOBODY in Boston or Houston will believe that St. Louis got as cold or as hot as Boston or Houston.

I wish I could drag you around just to back me up!

I was thinking of adding to the quotes thread with the guy who refused to leave until we gave him a box lunch to take with him.
Thats rich.. you should add it..

A quick I'm bored post pad. I think I'll play video games to kill my brain cells. Oh yeah, just got my books for school. They cost 400 total and they're used. Damn science textbooks. Positive side: I can use them as weights to workout.

The other night in the ER.....
ATTENDING (the guy who has been my role model from the time I got involved in health care; he loves to grill me for his own amusement and my education): What's going on with the guy in Trauma 2?
ME: There's no ICU bed available and he's going slowly downhill....I was just coming to ask you what you wanted to do with him.
ATTENDING: What's your plan? You're the RT, he's on a vent, that makes him your patient. *evil grin*
ME: Ummmm....
ATTENDING: What have I told you before? Don't come to me unless you know what you want to do. Damn it Rich, you want to be a doc someday, you need to start learning how to think for yourself regarding this stuff 😉 . Unless you're completely lost because it's weird, and by weird I'm talking there had better be a small alien coming out of his ass and about to do a little dance across the room.
ME: You've been watching Spaceballs again haven't you?

This probably should go on the quotes thread, but I felt more like padding over here....
