Hey. I absolutely Lost and have no social life. I have been disappointed in the internet aspect though. What sites have you been looking at?

PS We should move this over to Path's Lost thread 😉
And join the dark side NEVER:
My favorite two fan sites for recaps, clues, screenshots, and discussion, etc.
http://www.filmfodder.com/tv/lost/

http://lost.cubit.net/
and a new one that I just found out about but haven't looked into yet
http://www.hanttula.com/projects/lost/

Then as far as the official canon of lost itself so far there is
http://www.oceanic-air.com/
and
http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

To complicate matters there is
www.driveshaftband.com
which was up for awhle and believed to be from ABC/Disney but later found out to be a fan made fake. now this site seems to be down.
and http://www.megalottojackpot.com/index.php which is still up but also just a fan made fake "official" site

can you guys enlighten me to this 'lost' counterculture thing....my SO is way into lost but i think she just likes the show.....

One of my friends told me that a lot of the girls going to osteo school have hot bodies because they work out because they have to take their shirts off (leave sports bras on) for OMM. I wonder if this goes for the guys too!?

YES!!!!!! and BTW its even better when we have to "practice" on each other 😍 though being very attached to my SO I can only amdire from afar, but dang there are some fine looking guys in my class (sigh!)

ps I always look forward to Thursdays, thats the day we practice, this past week we finally got to thoracic's, it sure was nice to study at home that night and not hurt as much hunched over the books.....

I think I missed my calling as an osteopathic medical student. I have decent arms, back, and abs (it's just my legs that need work) so perhaps it wouldn't be so difficult for me to pick up guys if they could see me like that 😉.

Personally I'd like to see a picture SoCute.....

We've been over this. For now, I like my anonymity. The day I match in EM 🙂, though, all bets are off.

Saw the movie "Capote." Talk about disheartening. During the film, I wanted to read the book, but now, I think I would feel scuzzy if I did.

has anyone seen Hostel? Interesting...

I'm sorry for you. With the exception of X2, BB is by FAR the greatest comic book movie out there. The problem with it that I see is that SO many people miss the fact that it's also a good MOVIE movie. Not just a good comic book movie. They don't give it a fair chance based on it's history

Did you ask you SO what she likes about it?
For me it's the crazy lengths the shows producers/writers go to make a world of mystery with the most amazing little connections and links between different characters back stories. Usually you watch a show and then you MIGHT wait for the next week and watch it again. With lost you find yourself. watching it, watching it again with parts in slow motion..... reading the synopsises (sp?) on the net and then rewatching it againg to see what you STILL missed. Then sitting their rackin you brain to figure out what it all means. It's like TV to the 10th power. The only bad thing I can say about the show is that if you are reading this and haven't been watching but want too it's a hard road to catch up. Because of it's intracisy and detailed plots if you didn't get in on the ground floor (1st season) then it's tough to play catch up...... But it's SOOOO worth it.

Can ya tell I'm a fan?

Great football teams and great EM residencies in the same cities (indy, carolinas, denver, pitt). coincidence? I think not!

Study for the CS? Don't put too much effort into it.

Agreed....it was one of the few movies that I went to see in theaters and actually didn't have the urge to go out and demand my money back afterwards. I actually didn't mind paying to see it and would do so again.

Sorry to leave out some great teams/programs, it was only a half thought as I was typing with one hand (cat was sitting on the other), and half studying for my psych shelf and half watching the game.
I think Indy will be back next year...they had some tough circumstances there at the end of the run, but I think next year will be better.
Is it wrong to make a list of programs to look into based on NFL team performance??

That was great....My whole family are Colts fans and I was ecstatic that they lost just so everyone would STFU about how "This year is THE year!"

Yeah my little bit of studying has me thinking it shouldnt be too bad but I am worried about wasting ANOTHER $1K if I fail.. It blows my mind that this test tomorrow cost me $1,000 I could have found a million better uses for the money!

EF,
So does it work like step 1 where you can pick just any day and go and do it? or are there a limited number of days to pick from based on what city you go to? i went to the NBME website to figuere it out, but I think I came out more confused...

Forget the grand. This late in the year wouldn't you not be able to start a residency if you fail? Not trying to put pressure on ya but if I am right and that is the case I would probably go ahead and forgo football for the day and study. Though it is a BS test. Good luck.

Sort of. The thing is there are very few available dates. I got this test date all the way in November and it was the EARLIEST one! It varies by city and I know someone on here mentioned trying to change it and the next avialable date was in March or May or something.

The key is to schedule it early and just get it done with IMO, I wish I could have taken it right after an EM or IM month. I would be more used to dealing with patients.

1st off there is no way I could imagine failing this thing. I am good with patients (per 3rd yr and 4th yr evals) and going into EM is a good way of having this experience since you see patients with all sorts of different complaints.

Well no not really, I should have the results by Mid March and I would be able to take it again right at that time (assuming I could find a spot) then I would have the answer by mid May. If I fail I will have one more shot (with score) at it before I start my residency somewhere in July.

Patients? We see patients? (Frantically looks through physiology and biochemistry notes for information on patients!) NOBODY TOLD ME!?!?!

Yes it shocked me as well. Truth is once you start seeing patients it makes all the bs of 1st and 2nd yr seem distant and worth it. I dont know much about biochem anymore but I can take care of people!

With the travel expenses, mine was more like $1500 🙄 and that was sharing a hotel room & very cheap little rental car.

Speaking of interviews.....I am going to be interviewing for a job near Portland. Hopefully I get it (unfortunately even if they hire me it won't start for a while) and we can move away from here. Maybe getting my fiancee away from her family will improve her mental state.....

By the way, +pad+

I can at least be thankful for the fact that it is offered in my current city (Chicago)!

$1500? How swanky are you guys going? My trip is only costing me:

2 days worth of rental car (OK, actually an SUV): $120
