Path's lead is shrinking..

I was the near victim of road rage from Dominique Moceanu's father in Houston back some 8 years ago. He used to own and run this big gymnastics complex about 5 miles from my house, and one day I was getting off the freeway and this guy barreled up from behind in an SUV and tried to go around me in a one way offramp. I could not move so he nearly hit the guardwall and then chased me to the light. He rolled his window down and started screaming at me and I said, "Hey, you're that a$$hole who's daughter was in the olympics....now I see why she hates your guts". He was so embarrassed and mad that he ran the red light and sped away. Either that or he was probably already on probation for his many other run-ins with the law. Its funny how you stay calm and collected and dish it back at the asshats when you have a legally concealed 40caliber in the visor!!! God I love some things about Texas! That was one thing I have to really credit Bush for doing.
 
Yeah, I think she actually got emancipated from her parents or "divorced" them. There was a big money fight, I think.

It is true I am Jewish.. My people refers to my growing up in miami in the proverbial "hood".. :meanie:

My buddy from HS and college was here, and he had been searching on myspace.com, and I looked at all these people and we frankly couldnt believe how different our lives are from theirs.. anyways.. i got majorly crunk last night..

The b&c cant get out of bad.. she has a hangover :meanie:
 
Whoops. Double post.. Quite a party last night.. We went thru 5 liters of Vodka, a ton of Tequila, and 2 bottles of Scotch 😀

I needed to relax last night.. All in all a very very successful night. We had a solid turnout..

That's a difference of 1,633, good job everyone. +pad+ Any predictions for when 1,000 will fall?

Nice. Just punched in A ROL myself. It will be about 23 or so sleepless nights though I fear before I end up with THE ROL. I forsee me certifying about 8:50 PM on Feb 22nd and then going straight to a bar (till March 13th)
The worst part is I used to be an easy going relaxed person. 🙁

Yeah, I was pretty laid back until this time last year. Man, did I ever get uptight. I didn't think it was possible to obsess that much about anything. Fortunately, in retrospect, I don't think I could have screwed it up since I would have likely been happy at any of the 10 progams on my ROL.

EM is such a great field, full of truly great folks, that it really is hard to screw up your ROL. Of course, as soon as you hit submit that last time, you'll be convinced you found a way. 🙂 The good news is that as you have time to digest it, you'll realize you did the right thing.

Wow...looking at the number of posts I have made today, I have not been very productive. Yet looking at the pile of slides/notes/transcripts of classes on my desk, I have been INCREDIBLY productive. Think it's time for a biochem break. Physio BRS anyone?

My drinking days were few and far between until the last month. Surely I will return to drinking sparingly once residency begins and I actually have important things to do. Right now its the end of an era for my friends from med school so we are trying to end this thing properly!

Plus, I think jealousy is the wrong word. When you retake the lead in about a week, us path folks may feel some sense of nostalgia much later when we recall the era of Pathology dominance on SDN.

Now, realistically speaking, we probably won't even care...I'll just cry for one day 😛

It's interesting man, a lot of the residents who have been here for a while have told me that Boston winter this year has been quite mild. I do suspect that the weather will trend downward overall though. Can't wait until the spring when I can get back into ultimate frisbee and tennis again.
 
Here in Chicago they said this has been the warmest Jan since 1933!!! got up to 49 here!

I was in Chicago for a while last winter, on a few occasions...it was cold as a witch's tit. Then there was that big snowstorm (I think...or was that the year before?).

Maybe it's all part of global warming and we're all gonna die.

Enjoy! This way I can enjoy the benefits of the alcohol vicariously through you and not have to go through the hangovers (or the extra weight that I seem to be incapable of shedding since I past 35).

Man, that really helps put our weather down here in perspective. It was a wonderfully clear Texas day with highs around 75 today.

Feel free to remind me of this in August when the tar on our roads is melting.

Ah, another reason to scratch Texas off my list of places to list- as if my fiancee refusing to move more than 4 hrs from her family wasn't sufficient to kill most of my hopes for living somewhere nice until I enter medical school. 🙄
 
Oh well, she'll pay when I apply to medical school- I'm only applying places more than 8 hrs drive from the town she grew up in.
 
I may go to the Caribbean just so I can mess with her.
 
By the way, does anyone else get weird songs stuck in their heads?
 
Currently I've got Ray Stevens' "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" and Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" alternating....... :meanie:

The sad thing is that I haven't heard either of those songs in a week or more.
