i too have been cleansed of all things med-schooly since March 24. but i actually checked out around Feb 28. the last thing was my sub-i which i only showed up for about 13 days of with no call. they gave me the time off because it was match season and they were like, "oh it's match week, you shouldn't come in," or "oh it's your last week of medical school, you shouldn't be here, go home rest enjoy the time off until residency". i was like, sweeeeeeeeettt, don't have to tell me twice. so i am pretty sure that i will be IQ 75 when we start residency. scary!!!!! 😱

Hee... i'm pretty sure my IQ has been exponentially declining as my ass has been exponentially widening from doing nuffin'. I actually did a two week!!! rotation in ENT (where the didn't let me touch anything so i pretty much ended up showing up and leaving when i felt like it--not that anyone expected anything else 😉 right before match; they'd be saying, so what are you doing now? i'd say, oh, hanging out till match day 😉 i guess now i'm just hangin' out 'till residency. i seriously hope the brain is recoverable. and at least i have all the time in the world to work out and get a tan (man, i sound like i should live in LA--nothin' but workin' out and gettin' a tan 😛)

June 2nd!!!!!!! Not a lot of time to grad, move and relax before residency.

we grad on May 20, 21. It's great that they at least give you the last two weeks off to get stuff in order.

At arizona we picked our preference then through some process we got our different "tracks". I think you could email and aks and just say you are trying to plan some stuff or whatever.

BTW the Miami Heat have disappointed me worse than I could have imagined. yucky!

I killed ACLS even though I never got any of the study material in the mail..

100% on the exam 🙂

Man the heat look like they remember how to play bball... freaking Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with this team.

Spent the day in a primary care office. Let me just say that afternoons like today are career-affirming. That is, if my career does NOT include being a PCP.

16 y/o w/ essential HTN and concentric hypertrophy. I wanted to strangle him...

Overweight. Non...I mean PRE-compliant. Eats whatever he wants, won't exercise, etc. The same story I see in a lot of patients, and I understand that there are obstacles, challenges, and that I need to be compassionate (and I am!) but it's still frustrating to see.

every field has its own issues. Frequent fliers and drug seekers..

I do hear you that this is a pain.. in the end people need to have some personal responsibility. I too couldnt imagine being a PCP..

common...

MICU nights are slow (no complaint). I can't eat all night, and if I try to sleep, the nurses will just page me. Better to sit in the conference room, play music on-line, and surf while handling the critically-ill patients left to my care. 🙄
