I went to pick up my prescription today at the pharmacy. I have been taking Ritalin for quite a while so I am familiar with what they look like (white round pills). When I got home I look in the bottle and notice pink tablets, so I pull out my PDR. The pharmacist had given me a bottle full of Depakote.

happy bday quinn, congrats you made it!

XXX: State of the Union is just about to come on with Vin Diesel. I think I might check it out for 30 min. before bed. Any opinions on this movie. I generally don't watch movies with Ice Cube in it, even though his acting is solid haha.

You have to remember what he wants me to study- a hard to see, effectively transparent gelatinous blob that can kill a grown man who is unlucky enough to swim into it. Sounds like a spectacular reason to take a trip down under- where the men are men, the sheep run scared and the only thing that does not try to eat, sting, bite, or otherwise maul you are the goddamnned koalas on a good day (or would that be "on a g'day"? )- but then again, the good beer, hot women, and beautiful scenery seem to argue for the trip.

Koalas only look friendly. Try to take the leaf out of their paws and you will look like edward scissorhands had a go at your face. :scared:

Bad Koala! Bad, bad Koala!

Hence why I said "on a good day"......Speaking from experience?

Fair enough.

I live in oz and take advice from the locals not to be so stupid to equate cute with friendly. That said, I have handled my fair share of koalas and never had any problems. To them, I am usually just a barrier to their 20+ hours of sleep or their leaves.

got a stupid headache=must +pad+

Things are coming together here in AZ. Worked 2 shifts so far.. Looks like the remodeling plan is pretty well formulated.. Thank god.

I have this day off.. Then lots of orientation etc until next week.

BTW remodeling isnt cheap.. just thought you might want to know..

it is warm here. have about 1 month until I get my new car..

Im debating between the Toyota 4Runner, Nissan pathfinder, and the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Thoughts?

What's funny is I told the professor in Australia that I'd put an alligator snapping turtle in a box and FedEx it to him.....Apparently he found a website about them and his response was something to the effect of "Holy f--king Christ. You can keep your damn turtles." I guess the fact that the website mentioned the largest ones can bite through a 2x4 might have something to do with that.

Toyota makes a Highlander Hybrid SUV. Unless Subaru makes one in the next few years, my next car will probably be that.

Sigh...

It will be a long time before socute buys a new car...

You could do it when you do residency.. nothing too exciting but a new one nonetheless..

It's all good. I 😍 my car and plan to keep it as long as I possibly can.

That would be perfect for here. But once we have Baby Fetuses (weird use) we need something to lug them around in.. The OL has a Mazda 3...

We're trying to make it through my 4-yr residency with our current cars. Thing is, they're both '97 models. One is almost at 100K miles and the other is at 120K. *crosses fingers*

ouch... good luck... see my lease is up and i wouldnt buy my car.. so i need a new one.. im not big on blowin $ on cars. im savin for when i can really splurge on a ride.. right now the $$ is goin in the house...

well, they're both running well at this point.

I'm sure we could pull off replacing one or both in residency once I'm moonlighting, but I'd prefer to wait.

The longer you wait the more money you can save.. and the closer you are to being an attending and driving something real real nice!

EF- that's what the second car is for!

So, I worked an extended (ahem, 12 hour) shift. This sounds bad, but it wasn't really that busy. And that means prior to taxes, I made about a grand. 😀

roja $80/hr.. low for an attending? or is that only cause u r a fellow?

yeah the whole 2nd car thing not gonna happen with the ceo..😀

Nah. its 100/hour which is about going rate for Manhattan. I know I could make more if i freelanced in NJ or LI but I don't have a car and its so easy to just pick up 8-10 shifts at my home institution. 😀

point was working a 12 hour shift on a sunday ain't so bad when you are making extra $$ 😛

And mama needs $$

Thank god the Fetus has a shuga momma. 😀
