Viva le France..

yeah he's splitting his time between moving what's left of his stuff out of the place, having mad screaming conversations (i'm assuming w/ her) on his cellphone in french, and (of course) smoking cigarettes.

Was it that good?

oh it was great! very thought-provoking. i don't know if you ever read tolkein as a kid, but that movie reminded me of this one passage in the fellowship of the ring.

"Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement, for even the very wise cannot see all ends."

I he didnt smoke he wouldnt be European.. of course since he is french he prob only works 15 hours a week..🙂 (im kidding people, well sorta..)...

Please explain?

Personally I like this khmer rouge saying...

Their motto said it all: "To keep you is no benefit. To destroy you is no loss."

Not good people but a geat motto for a war like your neighbors!

sorry, i assumed you already knew the gist of the movie. it's based on true events. during the 1972 olympics in munich, several armed palestinians took members of the israeli olympic team hostage. long story short, everyone (hostage takers and hostages) were killed. the movie is about how israel decided to deploy a team of mossad agents (israeli secret service) to find and kill the people who were responsible for planning munich. what makes this movie great is watching the gradual change in the team leader as he realizes the gravity of the task he is given and the implications of it's consequences. hmm, i don't know if that does a good job of explaining why the movie reminded me of that quote, but i've gotta wake up to round at 4am (ob-gyn till january 27th), so it'll have to do for now....

wait that was ambiguous. waking up at four to go round, not rounding at 4am. basically, just another excuse to +pad+!

😀 :meanie: My self diagnosed ADD must have struck.. I actually thought the quote had to do with your neighbors fight. I am actually quite aware of the munich events. My bad  :meanie: 😀

It all makes sense now!

I have to ask you guys a semi-serious Q.. (I know who woulda thunk it?)

So as many of you know I am an MS4 and I think my screen name might be considered offensive as I start residency. I have another (less offensive) screen name. Do you think this is a reasonable thing to be concerned with?

I would feel bad letting my SN of EctopicFetus die.. but I wouldnt want the Inn N Out residency to be portrayed poorly when I get there.

To be honest - as mods we get complaints about user names from time to name. To my knowledge no one has complained about yours. I wouldn't worry. People care far less about what goes on on these forums than those on the forums think. As long as you don't slander people by name or spread blatant misinformation it's generally ok.

Keep the name! Just change residencies and do OB/GYN 😀

I think EctopicFetus is a suitable name for an ER doc, after all, how many times will you have to differentiate between an appy and an ectopic pregnancy at 4 AM once you are in the ER?

Ok, it's a stretch, but I tried 🙂.

Oh, and congratulations to ME 🙂 who just opened my first non-retirement investment account!

I think I would rather kill myself than do OB, of course thats just me.

BTW Another crumby anesthesia day gone by! Lucky for me I will miss 3 of the last 5 days of the rotation for interviews! Thank GOD!

Someone is gonna have to deliver my kid when my wife and I have one.. Dont be offended OB people.. Its just that field isnt for me...

A lot of people seem to be saying that these days. I can see why, but it kinda sucks because if there's one kind of doctor we need, it's someone to deliver the babies!

Nah, geriatrics thats where we need people.. You know to deal with the gomers..

On top of that me being male.. many women (esp the younger ones) would prefer to go to a female. My wife is like this (and I can understand that), she got her mom to see a female gyn doc and said that she too would never go to a man. Just thought I would throw it out there.

LOL, cuz G*d knows that if there were no OBs, women would stay pregnant FOREVER!!!! Personally, I think that without the fine field of obstetrics, fetuses everywhere would keep growing until they exploded out of the abdomen, Alien-style.

Alison,

I believe she was referring to prenatal care and screening.. and on top of that complicated pregnancies.. you do need someone to manage them..

Of course look at my screen name..🙂

If it weren't for OBs, I wouldn't be here. YAY preemies 🙂.

Hey, no offense meant...it was just a funny mental image and, I thought, an appropriate +pad+. 🙂

Gotcha.. in some ways we do explode out into the world..

Actually the success of premies probably has more to do with Neonatology (i.e. Peds)...Yucky Ob.. yuck!
