Path's lead is shrinking..

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hmmm...let's make a list. Stressed out, financially stressed, overworked, neurotic, admittedly self-involved (at times), still not over the guy who dumped her on her ass ~6 months ago. That should do 🙂.

Note: I'm not actually looking, or even abandoning hope for my relationship. I'm just a little pissed at the moment.

Yes, I think we all gathered that. Gotta vent somewhere!!!

We now return you to your normal scheduled Praetorian postpadding.....

Are there any EM residencies in El Paso? If so, you might want to rethink ranking them.......

Thanks. It has been so far. Appreciate the happy thoughts.

Oh, and beary - I was busy being a self-involved little brat last night. Hope your bad day wasn't because of your just-started hemepath elective! Hope that's going well!!!

Thanks socute. My day was a little better today too. Hemepath is going pretty good, thanks. 👍

It is super hard! So many of these cell types look exactly the same to me!

Hope you are doing ok.

And, topping the list of 4th year electives socute will NEVER take is:

(guess)

Ok, let's get a list going. Top ten signs you had a long day:
10) You spend your fifteen minute drive home debating whether it's Wednesday or Thursday.

I dunno...maybe. I just don't see where this relationship can get much better because of the fact that she refuses to move away from her parents. I don't know what she is expecting to do once I get into medical school since there isn't a medical school in the town her parents live in. Personally I think a major improvement will only happen when her mother's chain smoking catches up with her. That woman is the only person I would wish a slow lingering death from chronic respiratory failure upon.

Sorry, didn't mean to vent.

Wow... Good luck with that man. IMO at some point she needs to grow up and remove herself from her moms teat!

8) No matter how much coffe/soda/full throttle you drink you still cannot stay awake to read physiology...

was edited x2 two..sorry!

7) You find yourself with an unbearable urge to have yourself involuntarily commited just so you can sleep without being disturbed.

In the spirit of +pad+...... Some things I have learned working at a funeral home:
1. No trauma can compare to an embalming for the amount of bloodshed involved.
2. Pathologists are the oddest individuals you will ever come across (already knew this, but this belief has only been reinforced).

3. You have to cut out a pacemaker before cremating a body or bad things will happen.

4. Strangely I curse at my pager less for a body recovery call at a nursing home at 2:30 am than I cursed my VFD pager for calls for a live patient at a nursing home at a similarly unholy hour.

5. If you change your ringtone on your cellphone (issued by the funeral home) to "Bodies" by Drowning Pool you had better pray your boss has a sense of humor.

Happy Ground Hog Day:

Hope its an early srping for everyone

if you are intersted heres a link to learn all about the day and "famous phil"

http://www.groundhog.org/

+pad+

5) Of course it could always be worse, the person responsible for creamating people could be wearing his shirt that reads "Where's the Marshmallows?" +pad+

7. It's not a good idea to describe the dead guy as (AND I QUOTE because I don't have time to make s--t up anymore) "A dead ringer for *insert name of celebrity*". Especially not in front of the family.

8. One of our funeral directors is afraid of the dark and of enclosed spaces. Therefore it is wrong to lock him in the cooler where we store bodies and turn out the lights. Who knew? :meanie:

Hey! :meanie:

I actually have found most pathologists to be really cool. Certainly some odd birds, but have found that to be true in every specialty. Of course, maybe I just fit right in with the oddballs. 😀

Really? What happens? (Curious since I have one, and I'm a weird future pathologist :meanie: )

I also learned through personal experience that MRIs are not good for pacemakers. All those signs that pacemakers not allowed? For a good reason.

They explode. Or more accurately, the battery pack explodes.

I meant "odd" in a positive sense- in that they have strange sense of humor, etc.

My pathology prof incessantly talked about different hockey players and what diseases they were afflicted with (eg. Lemieux! of course). Bonus points on the final exam! He was a cool guy.

I know one pathologist with what I would classify as an unhealthy fixation on obscure Wagnerian operas. Although he does have a beautiful singing voice.....it's a little unnerving to hear someone singing opera in German while he's posting a body. :meanie:

I hate to mess with a perfectly funny postpad, but since it's it my residency and I want you guys to keep applying: El Paso is routinely the 2nd or 3rd safest big city in the US. Check the FBI crime stats.

Now across the river in Ciudad Juarez. . .

I'm afraid I won't be the greatest contributor - I have a test next week!!

just doing my part...

Good morning folks.. Last interview of the season!! This one for a transitional yr in case I match at my #4 or #5... Im only doing one of these I figure I can scramble if need be for prelim stuff. Nicely done P! After this it is 100% Cruise Control! All tests done.. MY ROL is done but I wont submit until Feb 7th or so.. Just to be double quadruple sure..

Anyone on here use that Chipotle Link to get some free Burritos? I havent.. YET!!

Does Chipotle use FedEx? Mmmm burritos....

It might take a while to get to Israel.. But it is soo good. BTW they just had their IPO.. and I am sure many people on here dont know that the majority shareholder is MCDonalds.. Interesting huh?

I bet the psychiatry residents are watching American Idol like its the Superbowl. Have you seen these people? How on earth can so many terrible singers believe that they are the next breakout star? Even after 3 experienced judges unanimously vote that they cannot sing, they respond by cursing and shaking their fingers at the camera and saying that "I'll still be a star, and you'll want my autograph in a few years....beeeeoootch".....as she walks away like 10 pounds of memory foam stuffed in a Barbie-sized mini skirt. I thought that guy that looked like Randy was pretty good but they shafted him. And that one chick who was the fit model from Texas was definitely only picked because Simon and Randy couldn't take their eyes off of her.
