I am having trouble with Northwestern's second essay, which reads:

2. Why do you want to attend Northwestern? Include a direct response to the following:
1) what you have learned about our collaborative curriculum (esp PBL and PPS) and why it influenced you to apply. Also comment on what you feel you can contirbute to these sessions.
2) in what ways does FSM's organ based approach suit your learning style? How will this approach help you learn what you need to know to be a successful physician.
3) comment on any other specific factors that promoted you to apply to feinberg

mainly because I don't know what PBL, PPS, and Organ based approach are. I checked their website and search engines but had no luck. Maybe I am blind, but if someone can link descriptions of what these are or briefly describe them, then it would help me tremendously. Thanks a lot.

I'm not applying to Northwestern, but I know Yale's website has a good description of the organ-based approach. Look under the description of "The Yale System."

PBL is problem-based learning. In other words, case-based learning. Here is a link to UAB's website, which has a sample case. UAB's site also has a good description of the case-based elements of its curriculum, so it should give you a good oversight to help you answer your essay question.
