I've taken Freshman Bio 1 and plan on taking Bio 2 in the spring. I was wondering, what books are great to review/learn biology that is on the PCAT? Do these books cover specifically biology or is other topics (IE. OChem/Gen Chem, Verbal, etc.) covered in these books? I'm afraid I wont be able to take Microbio and Genetics until the end of my junior year which is next year :scared:.

Even though its for the MCAT, I would recommend Examkracker's Biology. It's concise enough that it should more than cover everything for the PCAT and then some.

Campbell's Biology Text Book should do the trick. Know most of the major points. Also, know that the prep books are overviews of material. Having the book to give you examples and actually UNDERSTAND concepts are more useful. Trust me memorize facts allows you to answer ONE question but UNDERSTANDING concepts allows you to answer/work through thousands of questions.

I would say if you just finished first year bio...you should be fine for the biology section section of the PCAT. I really doubt you need any more (ie micro, immune etc). I took in the summer of first year when the basic bio was fresh in my mind. You should only need to look at the major concepts they're testing and make sure you have general knowledge in each....
