okay, i know the jan pcat deadline is already up (so must pay late fee if I decide to take it), but, okay here's the thing...

I was originally thinking of taking the Jun 08 exam, but am now debating whether or not I should take the exam in Jan (next month), then if I don't do as well, retake in June. I am planning on submitting my application as soon as PharmCAS opens in June, so I just want to take the June exam. So instead of just relying on my one score in June, I want to take it twice. So my question is, do pharm schools just look at the better score? Or do they take all scores into consideration?

Thanks!! any replies will be much appreciated! 🙂

It depends on the school. Some will take the best score, some will take the most recent, some will look at both. Isn't there an April test time? If you haven't prepared at all for the exam or haven't taken any organic chemistry, I would not take it in January. However, if you're prepared then I think January is a good time to take it - you have winter break to concentrate on studying.

ah i see. i guess it would be safer if I take it in June, then I would still have time to retake in August. But instead of rushing for the January exam, it'd probably be wiser for me to take my time during winter break and until june and just kick butt then. 😉 Thank you for the reply!! 🙂

If I were you I would look into the schools you are applying to and find out what score they take, because it seems like a lot of them only consider the top score.

Also taking it in Jan. will better prepare you for the June exam, because theres no better practice test than the PCAT itself right?!

What classes have you had so far? If you've finished Calculus, one semester of Organic, and Biology then I would go ahead and take it in Jan, you might be surprised how well you do. The information will definitely be a little more fresh in your head now than in June.

Just some things to think about. Good luck!

as far as i know...........it is better to take a standardized test the least number of times you can possibly take it...........

Any given score would look better if you got it first shot rather than the second shot.......I think you should take more practice exams to get a better feel for the test.....

I think you should take it in June........I see no point in taking it in Jan.....cuz even if you do, you'll most prolly do better in june anyway....
