Does anyone know if we're gonna have to know all the unit conversions from SI to metric because...there's a lot of them. A LOT.

Is it necessary to know the integral and derivative of every trig function and special functions?

Thanks

didn't see any conversions on mine....DID see a few integral/derivative trig functions. Can't remember all of the specifics, but I don't remeber any sec/csc. Not to say they couldn't throw them at you.

I vaguely remember a trig problem like that.

The thing is, they're all simple ones that you can do in your head. So just memorize the basics (like 0, 90, etc) and you'll be fine.

I am going to memorize the derivatives because there aren't that many MAIN ones....and once you know those....you know the anti derivatives as well...and i guess i'll look over and know the trig ones, just to be safe.

You should memorize:
all the natural log/log rules.
Exponent rules
Domain and range for natural logs and logs....and basic domain and ranges when you're giving something like ( (5-x)^(1/2) )
the conjugate rule stuff....with the invisible i ....

i'm not sure about SI conversions....because I guess that falls into both chemistry and math....prob should just know the basics?

pretty much anyone that knows any calculus is expected to have the derivative and integral of sin and cos memorized... All the other trig ones you can figure out from there if you absolutely have to... Most unit conversions and constants you're never really expected to memorize unless they're ones that for one reason or other you need to use frequently...

Hey thanks guys for the response!! Yeah trig was never a strong point for me so I gotta work on that. Thanks for the heads up

Do we have to know unit conversions for chem? Beside the basic ones like L to mL etc. like nanometers to meters and stuff like that?

How complicated is the trig on the pcat? Should I review sec, csc, cot and law of cosine and sin or will just knowing sin, cos, tan and the special triangles be enough?

How do you guys tackle the trigonometry and calculus word problems. i get so lost on those and dont know how to start the equation for those
