Hi guys, so I just completed my pcat test this morning and I got the preliminary score report which I'm relatively pleased with. But i'm wondering how accurately does this preliminary score reflect the actual score i will get on the official report. Should i deviate and drop a lot? I wanna know cause i feel my preliminary scores dont reflect how i actually think i did. these are my scores btw for those interested:

Bio - 99
Chem - 99
RC - 58
Quant - 88

Composite - 97

Thanks 🙂

Congrats!! Great scores 😀DD

Do you think you did worst or better than scores you just listed? I've been told they don't change ..

Congratulations on your awesome scores! I have heard that they are exactly the same as your official scores unless there was something wrong with the questions. 🙂
I'm taking mine tomorrow; may I ask you how you felt about the test?

Hey those are great! Congrats! I work with a girl who took the PCAT last year and is currently doing her first year in pharmacy and she said that her scores barely changed from her preliminary scores. She said her essay in no way affected it either.

Thanks! My RC score is really annoying though dont know how pharm schools will look at it haha.

Anyways the first half of the test wasnt too bad at all (essay bio chem) and i was going through most of the questions quickly, nothing too tricky. However the passage based questions in bio and chem were kind of annoying cause i couldnt focus on reading the passage quickly but then i realized you dont even have to read the passage for like half of the questions relating to it. RC and math were pretty difficuly for me. Math i think i guessed like 15 questions - time was an issue. Just remain calm and you'll be able to focus. Good luck ! 🙂

Worse :/ especially for quant
Great scores man!!

They usually don't change much overall, maybe by a percent or 2 up or down. Regardless you did fantastic!

So were the chem/bio passages easier, harder, or about equal to the pearson practice tests and/or collins?

I'm assuming they were easier than the crazy BS that was on test 7 right? RIGHT? RIGHTTT?

Haha sorry, anxiety off the charts, glad you did well though!

Well, you rocked it!!
One more question, what was your primary study method?! Sorry for bombarding you lol: D

Congrats!! I think these results will be very accurate to the official score report. How was the test overall with the passages? Was math hard?

Do you mean the bio and chem passages? They werent too bad. Alot of the questions relating to the passages could easily be answered without even reading the passages. And yes i found math the most difficult with not enough time. Had to guess a bunch of questions

Thank you so much for your answer! I think your RC score will be fine!!! I know this question is all relative, and I'm sure you are a smart student and put lots of time into preparation. I wish that tomorrow I will be in the same/similar situation as you are now. 🙂 Congratulations one more time!

I'm not sure what you mean by test 7 but yea i think they were very similar to the pearson ones. I found the chem passages easier than the bio passages though. I had the 2014-2015 dr collins and the passages used there i think were much easier than on the actual pcat. Good luck 🙂

Started off with the 2014-2015 Kaplan book but it was so boring and detailed for bio and chem. then i started doing all the dr collins tests (had the 2014 version i think) and reviewed all the topics i kept getting wrong. The last week before the test i did 3 pearson practice tests and 3 pearson essay questions.

Congrats on your scores! I am sure you will be fine with a 97 comp, if they ask about the reading score just explain to them what happened. I take my exam tomorrow and I am feeling really nervous. I have a degree in Biochemistry, and have been studying for a couple months now with the Kaplan and 2016 Dr. Collins study guides. I just don't know how well it has prepared me for the exam tomorrow.

if you have been studying for 2 months im sure you'll be fine haha. just try and keep calm so that you can better think. the bio and chem don't have really any tricky questions its almost all just recalling information from memory and recognizing it in the answer.

thanks for the response.

Test 7 was the third pearson test everyone thought was really hard (5 and 6 being the first 2).

Also I didn't mention earlier, but dont worry too much about reading. Sure its not great, but colleges usually don't look at that section too stronly unless you BOMBED it (<30), especially if your essay turns out to be pretty decent. Combined with a 99 science score, and pretty good math score, you prob don't have too much to worry bout

Thanks that's relieving haha 😛 and I don't remember how difficult test 7 was sorry

Hi I just have a quick question. For anyone who's taken the PCAT already or taken the official practice test, approximately how many passages should I expect in the bio/Chem section?

I also took the PCAT today and am wondering how accurate the preliminary scores are of my actual score. Does anyone have the answer to this?

Congratulations! What did you use to prepare for the pcat?

Congrats on your scores! I've heard that the preliminary scores are usually the same as the final. How did you feel about the writing?
