Hello,
I took the PCAT today. What do these score mean? Should I retake it?
Biological Processes: SS:414 PR:63
Chemical Processes: SS:430 PR:86
Critical Reading: SS: 340 PR: 1
Quantitative Reasoning: SS: 405 PR: 59

Composite: SS: 397 PR:37

How to score better next time? My weakest subject is QR and Reading, and a little Bio.
PLEASE help me get through this test. I usually do not score high on standardized test.
Do school look at the SS or at the PR?
Someone could explain it?

Thanks

They look at your percentile range. A 1 percentile Critical Reading score i do not think is acceptable with any pharmacy school (unless im wrong). With a 1 percentile score, it means that 99% of people will have gotten a score higher than you. Your composite score of 37 does not look to great either. I would highly suggest retaking the test and try different approaches to study for the pcat. the pearson practice tests are great in that they give a good idea for whats on a pcat

You need to retake. Your CR is not good...like at all. The only impressive thing is chemistry but just one is not enough. Your composite for everything is not competitive at all. Aim for about a 65 composite score at the minimum. Schools typically look at your PR (percentile). You still have another chance so don't feel too discouraged.

Hello,
Thanks for replying.
What material did you use to study for PCAT?
I used Dr. Collin's material for Bio, Math, and Chemistry.
I found chemistry section helpful but there were some stuff no discussed in Collin's handout.
I heard Kaplan is good for Bio. Do you know what version of Kaplan is good. I heard from some people on amazon.com complaining about the new edition because it contains lots of wrong answers to some questions or pages do not follow the order.
how about QR? Any easy material that explain the solution thoroughly? Dr. Collin's does not give in depth answer to some of the problem which it makes me not interested in anymore and skip the problem.
I used one test from Pearson Practice Test #7 only. It is good, but I feel some topics in pre-calculus were not discussed when I took the class.

Than you so much!

I used mainly Kaplan (2016-2017) to study bio, chem, and quant. I used a friend's study guide for dr.collins so I didn't have access to his practice tests. However, I did have a used 2012 Barron PCAT book that I used for practice problems because Kaplan does not give u enough. Kaplan helped with mainly bio as you mentioned. Dr.collins helped with chem. Barron was just what I used to practice, practice, practice. CR and Quant only came from practice regardless of where u do it.
