Hi I am currently in pharmacy school and we have a requirement that forces us to get a score of 300 on each section of the PCAT. I understand that the scoring range is from 200-600 on each section. I was just really nervous for my upcoming test and wanted to know exactly how hard is it to get a 300 on each section. Please let me know.

Thanks

Im not retaking it they have a requirement for the students to take it, im in the 0-6 program, and i have to get a 300 on each section. How hard is that?

OK. The 200-600 is a raw score, right?

If so, then a 300 means you got 25% right. Someone PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.

Have you tried a practice PCAT through Pearson? That will give you an idea of how you will do.

What classes have you taken? You should do OK if you have taken Freshman Bio, Gen Chem, Calculus, and Organic 1 (I am currently halfway through Organic 1 and did not miss an Organic question on the practice PCAT so I am guessing it does not really cover Organic 2). You also need to have decent verbal/reading comprehension but I think if you did fine on your SATs (since you are in 0-6 I assume you took the SAT no more than 2-3 yrs ago) you just need to review what kinds of questions are on the PCAT and how they like the essay portion structured/written.

I honestly think if you have decent grades so far and have taken the material that the PCAT covers, you should do OK.

So all I need to do is get 25 percent of the questions right on each section? that doesn't sound hard at all

the first time i took the pcat it was during my freshman year and i scored above 400 in each section. a 300 in each section is easy i wouldnt worry about it to much. if you have at least taken a few classes in each section you should be fine. Even though you should be able to do it easily i would still study a little just to be sure. Also you could take the pearson practice tests and your approximate percentile range is above the about 25% range ( im not sure what the exact percentile that equals a 300 but a 400 in a 50th percentile

hope that helps
