I'm interviewing at PCO this Tuesday and was just curious about the timeline after the interview. How long does it take to hear about acceptance/rejection? Do they waitlist?

Also, what is the best way to prepare for an interview? To be honest I'm not very familiar with the optometry application process and I'm not sure if I should be researching issues in optometry in the U.S. or corporate vs. private optometry like some of the other threads have suggested. Is this necessary?

For someone who doesn't know much about the scope of optometry, you should at least have a clear answer as to why you've switched from pre-med to pre-opt. If the interviewers know this, they'll more than likely ask about it to make sure you're going into optometry for the right reasons (and for your own sake, I hope it's not just your second choice!).

There are a lot of sample questions there.

Good luck.

They usually meet every other Friday and will send you an email that day. With Thanksgiving coming up though, that may mess up their schedule some. Be very very prepared to say why you want to be an Optometrist and why not Med school and they WILL be able to tell if you are BSing. Sorry 🙁
