Hey guys- also wondering, anyone applying to PCOM this cycle? I'm applying to the philly campus.
haha simple: I'm from Georgia and I REALLY want to get out. Childish I know, but I really do not want to stay in-state.
This may seem like a trivial/dumb question but I'm also applying to PCOM and was wondering if I have to create separate accounts in order to apply to both the Philly and the GA locations?
that's what I did...so I hope so.
Hey everyone- I was accepted into GA-PCOM postbac and was wondering if anyone had advice to do well in the program and get into the DO school? Thoughts on MCAT, classes, and living in GA is appreciated. I'm from California so I don't anything about where to live in GA

Mazda, I can't speak for GA, but I just received my acceptance letter for the biomed program at the Philadelphia campus. They notified me March 5 about having all of the required materials, and I found my letter in the mail today.
3 - 4 weeks seems to be about right for most. Good luck 👍
Addis, what are your stats?
this is a 2 year program?
my stats are pretty low, 2.75 undergrad gpa, DAT 18 AA/19 TS, i have great LORs and shadowing hrs...i was told that there is a possibilty getting in PCOM (in fact Temple D. School recommended it) but now i feel as though since they put me on the wait-list that there might not be any chance for me to get in.
It depends on how far you take it. You can do it for one year and earn a "biomedical sciences cert", which [if you perform well] can really help with further professional school applications. Think of it as something to polish up a lower than stellar record... or you can go through the entire two years and earn a MS in one of three specific disciplines.
In regards to what you said about it being an "easy in".. PCOM's biomed program in both Philly and GA are now becoming a more prominent force in the postbac game, and the bar rises with each successive year (just look at their tuition/stats pattern).
You deffinetly aren't shut out of the game, it's just they're going to wait it out and see if some of the other applicants are going to accept their offers first. As to why you were waitlisted: it may be that they found your GPA to be too far below their average to offer an immediate acceptance. Keep your fingers crossed, you've got time.

Hey I am looking into those apartments. Thanks for the advice. If I decide to move there I'll contact you for the referral 🙂Good luck to those applying to PCOM.. It's a challenging program, but it definitely makes you a better student! I'm a current student in the Biomed program at PCOM GA and was definitely challenged this year. Congrats to those that were accepted.. Suwanee and Lawrenceville are where most of the students live. It's best to sign your lease by June because the rent for apartments fluctuates. To give you an idea... I just signed my lease for a 1/1 next year at Century Riverside apartments, where many PCOM students stay for $702 because PCOM students get a discount plus free washer and dryer. In late July/August they will be closer to $800. Also I get $300 for referrals.. so If you use me as a referral I'll give you half of it and it should help for books. Also for your information, The maximum amount of loans you can take out doesn't cover your entire tuition unless if you take out Grad Plus loans... just a heads up!
Hey, last year I was in the same exact position. Applied to PCOM and LECOM and got into both. I wanted to go to PCOM since it's about 40 minutes from my home but I decided against it. Reason being that LECOM is "guaranteed" if you get the 3.0 GPA and 23 MCAT. From what I heard from people last year was that PCOM will interview you, but not until March or April. Often by this time you are only fighting for spots on the waitlist. Sure people do get in, but with LECOM essentially saying get a 3.0 and you're in I couldn't turn it down.
By the way I have already received my conditional acceptance at LECOM, as have all of my classmates with the minimum requirements. They really do have the seats saved for you as long as you can maintain what they ask for.
Does anyone know about the professors for the GA-Biomed first year program?
Right, but I don't know anything about them lolThey are the same professors that teach the DO students in the morning.

Cool! You can just private message me on here. Make sure to look around and select whatever apartments you feel is the best for you. They have pretty good prices all around right now. Last year I signed in July and it was definitely higher than it was when I visited in June, so I would advise to sign in June the latest if money is an object of course lol
