PCSOM class of 2007

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'll be there if I get my house sold...

I'll be there with bells on come Aug.

I am also heading to PCSOM this fall

Awesome, it's nice to see there are a few of us going to PCSOM. So, has anyone started looking for housing? When does everyone plan on moving to Pikeville?

I'm also in the process of looking for housing right now. I heard that Jeanne in the admissions office has some housing info but I wasn't able to get a hold of her yet. If anyone has some advise about the best place to live I would appreciate it too. I can't wait to meet you all this fall!

Hello Everyone. First of all....congratulations on being accepted. I am only still in the running, but am really hoping/dreaming that they accept me. I have an interview April 26 and was wondering if any of you could offer me some good advice as veterans? Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be great.
thanks!
Beth

I am going this weekend to search for housing. Angel sent me a list of housing and also sent my email address out to the current med students that are moving out this summer. They were more helpful than the list because it doesn't seem to be updated.

Mommamutch, don't get too worked up over the interview. It was very low stress. When I went in I sat down in the chair and it almost flipped over backwards. I came dangerously close to smacking my head on the wall behind me. Just think, it can't get much worse than that and I got in! Good luck!

Hey fellow future classmates! I shall see you in the fall. I have no clue when i'm moving there, or where to get an apt. When is everybody else planning on moving?

I'm actually going this weekend to look for housing and I might sign a lease if I find something I like. As far as when I'm moving to Pikeville is uncertain...I probably won't move until July. I would like to be there by the first week in Aug. I've been looking for places in the Pikeville paper, it's web address is www.news-expressky.com it's been useful. Which I also know the area pretty well being I grew up there, so I would be more then happy to answer some questions about the area. Also, don't go to Pikeville next weekend looking for housing because Hillbilly Days will be taking place and they shut all the streets down for it.

Mommamutch-Congrats on getting an interview. I wish you luck and I hope to see you in Aug. As far as the interview, it's very laid back and actually one of the easiest interviews according to a lot of people. If you want I could PM you some of the questions that might come up.

i am going down this weekend as well to look for housing. so is another girl. maybe i will see you there.

i think we should have a cookout or something before school starts. i don't know what type of social events they have planned for us during orientation.

jekel-How did the apartment shopping go? Mine went decently well, I'm not sure yet where to live. Did you view anything great? I agree that we need to get a group together for a cookout before school start....I was actually thinking about that. I was even considering throwing one before school starts depending on the type of place I got. I know that during orientation week they do a pretty good job of planning somethings to do, but nothing that really keeps you busy.

hossofadoc-
actually, i went down to check out a specific house that a current med student is renting. I liked it, but unfortunately they do not think they will be completely out by the time our orientation starts. the house was perfect for what i need and only about a three minute drive to school. you grew up in pikeville, right? any suggestions on getting a house. i have pets and don't think an apartment would work. I guess if nothing else, i could stay in a hotel until they move out. there is a guy that is still in a hotel from last years starting class, supposedly. If you have any suggestions, you could email me at [email protected].
thanks
