I've heard many people suggest PDF format when submitting documents on Phorcas but PDF keeps changing my formatting for CV and letter of intent. I was wondering if I should just take the risk of uploading the word DOC. rather than converting it to PDF?

Thanks in advance!

I definitely think its easier on the mind to upload as a PDF. That way there is no formatting issues.

I would definitely suggest using PDF for all document submissions, to phorcas or otherwise. Typically if you save your document as a PDF directly with MS Word (i.e. not conversion by one of the many online sites) there are no/very minimal formatting issues.

An alternative that many of my colleagues used is a PDF printer (CutePDF or the like) that will save the file as a PDF and also shrink the file size slightly. No one ever mentioned formatting issues. But I definitely agree that PDF is the way to go.
