I've been using Collins practice exam to study, and I keep reading on here that anyone who used collins had a hard time on the pearson practice exams which closely resembles the PCAT. I've been debating to purchase the pearson exams since I already dropped so much for Collins, but now I'm debating if I should if its going to make a difference. However my My PCAT is tomorrow so Im not sure if I will benefit from it only one day away from the exam. What do you think? If you already had exposure to the pearson exams, would you say you would still spend the money the day beforehand?

Yes!!! If you have time, purchase exam 7 (which a lot of people are saying is the hardest). It doesn't even matter which exam, but do buy at least one before tomorrow. Then go over it and polish up on what your strong points are. At this point, it is not worth studying/going over weak points. You either know it or you don't. I take my exam at 8AM, so what I am planning to do is wake up a couple hours beforehand, and study weak points then since it will be fresh in my mind before the PCAT.

In conclusion: yes, buy the practice exam. Lol

Have you done any other passage based questions besides Collins?
I can tell you that the ones on the Pearson are a lot more difficult than Collins.

Good idea, I'm going to head to the library right now and purchase it. Did you use collins to study?

No I have not. I didn't know any other resource besides Kaplan, however I also hear that Kaplan questions are more in depth than the actual PCAT. What did you use to study after taking the pearson exams?

I used kaplan only to study for bio and i think it helped me a lot in the collins practice test. Would you say collins helped you a lot in the pearson tests?

Yes, Collins did help me for the Pearson practice exam. However, Kaplan practice exams, I think, were much harder than Pearson's.

I continued doing the Collins! I also studied Pearson tests thoroughly!

I agree with the people above, purchase at least one if not all of the tests (5,6,7). After all, these practice tests will closely resemble what's actually on the PCAT. I'm re-studying the tests i purchased right now (well, apart from typing here lol). My test is tomorrow as well, but I feel better knowing that I won't be surprised by strangely formatted questions since the pearson tests are the original administrators of the real thing.

Thank you for the responses everyone!

I agree with everyone! I just did a practice exam today and it was a little challenging. I did use Dr. Collin and it irritates me that the practice exams for chemistry were not close to the pearson practice exams. Sigh. However my percentile was still a little low.

But def get it, so you can know how the layout will be and how to work on timing since that is going to be a big factor deal breaker. Well for me that is.

How did you do on your pcat?!!? Did the practice exam help?

My advice is to really pace yourself, especially for the RC and Quant sections. I ran out of time on the quant section, costed a chunk of points. Overall, not as scary as people make it to be.

Cheers.
Would you say the quant questions were difficult or it was the time that made it difficult?

Hi I just have a quick question. For anyone who's taken the PCAT already or taken the official practice test, approximately how many passages should I expect in the bio/Chem section?

The practice exam had 5-6 passages for each.
