Got the results yesterday and passed with zero studying and a bad head cold on test day. Not bragging or encouraging future fellows not to study, just want to ease any future test takers anxiety. Between fellowship and studying for orals you'll be well prepared.

I passed too, with some cramming the week of. I was surprised with the amount of non-pediatric specific stuff on there. Seemed like an ITE with a peds heavy tilt.

Not to lull future test takers into a false sense of security, I've seen data (which I can't find now of course) that the pass rate is falling. (high 90's to low 80s) No idea what the 2017 pass rate was however.

I understand the point the previous two posters are making. The test is straightforward. Maybe the 2 previous posters have always scored in the 90th percentile on prior tests.

I personally endorse studying. About 85% of the test takers will pass but another 15% are spending $1200-$1700 for the joyous opportunity to re-study, take the test and then worry again about results.

Also consider the added costs of purchasing exam prep.
