Hi, I was admitted to Penn and Pritzker. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Location is important to me, and so I'm also wondering how the city of Philadelphia compares to Chicago. Also, I was trying to compare match lists, and I can't really see much of a difference. Thanks.

hmm.. this is tough.
both are in Big cities, with respected hospitals
traditional curricula.. great research opportunities.. great undergrad campuses.. cold weather.

there's gotta be something U noticed. I didn't apply to Penn so I'm going on the basics that I know when I was looking up schools/reading on SDN.

Go to Penn

Penn is ranked alot higher and you could probably get a better residency. Plus if you live in Philly you are closer to a bunch of big cities like New York.

If you live in Chicago there is no other big city near by.

and so another spot opens up for pelican man at UofC!!

just kidding, but for real though, I would choose UPenn.

go to pritzker - EVERYONE whose who knows its better. besides has anyone actually SEEN a match list for Penn? in one of these threads some guy (scenario?) kept asking for a match list. he finally got up the b*lls to ask the admissions office, and they give him the run around. in my book Penn is SOOOOO overated. And then there is all that research - I mean come on... who really cares?
-Dark.
PS: I'm on the Penn waitlist.

Alright fine, in all honesty who even thinks Penn is in the same class as Pritzker. I guess for Pritzker's sake you might want to revisit both schools. but fusck it - go Penn.

By the way congrats!

You're a guy so I would tell you that your best bet is Pritzker! Also...If you're anal go to Pritzker. If you study 24/7 and have no personality go to Pritzker...

On the other hand, if you're a totally chill kick back guy who knows how to have fun and is really cool then I would say go to Penn.

p.s. I'll be starting med at Penn in the fall. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUMP.

Thanks to everyone for your sometimes crooked advice. I've FINALLY decided to go to Penn! Why? Because of three afternoons off/week and a lower cost of living in Philly. Anyone going to Penn Preview?

Thank again!

My sister lives in Chicago and its a really great city. I think Pritzker is highly regarded in terms of academic medicine and research as well.

Good choice -- Penn is a great school so you can't go wrong!

I had a 3.9 GPA and a 30 on the MCAT at KU and Lawrence. Over 150 hours volunteering and over 160 hours of internship at a hospital along with other ECs. No research which could have hurt me. No invite for interview for EDP.

This was the most random necrobump I've ever seen.

You need research.
