Hey all,
Does anyone know the year limit for Pennsylvania licenses for physicians? Im an MD, and I've seen both websites stating 7 years and some stating 10 years for USMLE time limits. I looked on the actual state's website as I figured that would be the best way to go, but there is no statement on the website that I can find regarding time limits for completion of steps 1-3.

Anyone can provide any insight?

The definitive answer here would be to contact the state board. They are pretty responsive.

Well the program is that many times while the individuals who process the licenses know their stuff, the people who answer the phone frequently don't. For example I'm finishing up the process to get my FL license. I called to ask if they needed license verifications including training licenses - the person who answered the phone didn't seem to know and say yeah since you are getting a license. That did not seem right. I called back and had to speak with one of the "specialists" who told me not at all, only full licenses need verification which is exactly right. So that's why it's important for me to know before applying.

Per the FSMB, there is no limit.

Yeah I have seen that site from FSMB, but there are others that say 7 year limit. I don't know which one is right. If the FSMB the "official" one? Also it's annoying that not all of these sites have dates. I guess things can change, but it's confusing! It's also annoying that this is not listed clearly on the different states' sites if it's so important. I also don't see how one state can have one limit and a different state can have different limits but I guess that's beyond the scope of this thread.

Example
https://www.medicallicensuregroup.com/states/#Pennsylvania

http://www.nationwidemedicallicensing.com/state-requirements.php#p

Both of these sites say 7 years - which one is right I don't know!

So this is why I am suggesting you just email the Pennsylvania board. The websites are definitely confusing, so you should really get this from the horse's mouth.

The state board is responsive. I recently contacted the osteopathic division and had an answer within 5 minutes of calling (after spending a half hour trying to figure out through online resources) the office.

Ok, thanks.
