To keep a long story short, I began my rotation at a clinical site and the clinical staff and workers are very rude, judgmental, and dramatic. Just walking down the hallway I will get dirty looks, and many of these people are in their mid-forties acting like High School and gathering in cliques because no one wants to be around the 'stupid' student. I now get panic attacks before every clinical now and it's not uncommon for the workers here to gossip with each other, argue, etc, and I am likely stuck at this clinical site for a year. Some advocate for me to leave the program because there are no jobs and I am wasting my time and money, but I can't do that I'm already on the five-year plan because I switched from a different major to this one and it would already look really bad to any program I'd be interested in post-graduation if I was to switch again. They would think I can't make up my mind.

I need to learn to develop a thick skin...I am not trying to play victim at all or anything, so please don't get that convoluted but I've never felt so anxious in my life. Sometimes I have trouble folding sheets because I get so anxious 🙁. They get mad at me for the simplest things, like asking to use the computer to sign off and it seems like nothing I do can make them happy. I wish I could switch out but I made a commitment and I regret my decision.

Any tips???? I know this type of behavior is expected in every work environment but I can't help feel that my presence just ticks them off.

Sounds like you need to see a counselor. Seriously. Having panic attacks because you perceive people at work being rude is not healthy and is something you need a handle on NOW. You obviously know you need to find a way to deal with this, and a counselor will be the best way to do that.

Will do thanks!
