UT Houston sent interviews? Funny they never responded to my emails...Whoever got interview for UT Houston did you have DAT test taken?

The reason I asked is because I was invited to the interview process at UIC and Univ of Washington and kind of surprised that I did not get UNC interview invite...may be UNC is a better school and may be they received candidates with better resumes than me.

Just a thought and yes I do miss UNC interview invite

Yes I have taken both part 1 and part 2 and I am a dentist with 7+ years of experience and I have done my AEGD as well and my GPA is 3.80 +

I was really wanting a Houston n/or UNC invite. Guess there are much better applicants!!!
 
even ive cleared both boards, have 4.0 GPA n class standing of 1 , was kinda hopeful for these.

I know the director there and he is a very nice person but he told me that it is very competitive program and need either ADAT or GRE...I could not take GRE due to lack of time and let it go

exactly I havent taken ADAT nor GRE but only national boards part 1 n 2 , TOEFL. I mailed them they told its a must to have one of the two so did not apply.
 
Yeah, from what I hear it is far more difficult for international students to get accepted into residency programs, when compared to an American trained dentist with the same credentials. Stay positive though!

No still ,, I know some one who got an interview email ladt Tuesday

And the director told him applications is still being reviewed but it takes time

I have not heard from UNC or Houston and to be frank I am puzzled.

I have a friend of mine who is applying as well and he could not make it to the interview to U of Washington despite getting interview invite. So he called them and asked if he can come in for the second round of interviews. They told him that they are not sure if they are going to do 2nd round of invites. So looks like they are inviting lot of people in the first round of interview itself.

I know UNC and Houston have both sent letters outs. I know Houston is having two cycles because they offered two dates for interviews. I am not sure though how many cycles each program is planning on having. I do know though that multiple schools are only having one to two cycles ( Univ. of Florida and Washington for example). Just out of curiosity, what are you puzzled over perio applicant 2018? I know for me, I am surprised people are still having limited interview cycles now that we are doing MATCH
 
Last year I got interview invite in December from UNC.
Don't know about this year.
I am also waiting for updates from UNC and UAB.

I am puzzled that programs are leaning towards only one round of interviews. I was thinking there will be more interviews because of participation in MATCH
